About me

I am a fully qualified Counsellor, Hypnotherapist and Coach. I am a Professional member of The General Hypnotherapy Register, The Hypnotherapy Society and the CNHC which is the only body recognised by the NHS for professional Hypnotherapy. I am also a trained NLP Practitioner and a professional member of ANLP

I know that many people have an understanding of Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis which is wide of the mark. The use of Hypnosis is an incredibly effective way of helping clients to make significant positive change. It is not a dark art and does not involve the client "losing control" or "being put to sleep". In fact Hypnosis without any level of trance can often be just as effective as that which is done with trance.

Its really a good idea to ask questions if you have any doubts about Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. The fundamental point is this. If you have an issue which is currently holding you back from leading the life that you want, feeling the happiness and balance that you desire or preventing you from fulfilling your potential I can probably help.

I am a strong believer in continued personal and professional development, and I constantly take opportunities to develop my own skills and expertise in order to offer my clients the best possible support.

I spent over 20 years in people management and leadership positions in a global company before devoting myself full time to running this practice.

I am passionate about learning, my family, music, food and cooking. I am always questioning and intrigued by life and I believe that this breadth of interest makes me a more effective counsellor and coach.

I am not devoted to a particular psychotherapeutic approach but I do believe that we need to be understood and treated as individuals. What works for you might not work for someone else. It's important that you feel that you have the right counsellor or coach for you, and to that end I will always be happy to answer any questions you have prior to beginning work with a client.

If you want to know more please contact me and I'll be happy to talk to you.

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

The General Hypnotherapy Register

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

I charge £60 for each session

Stop Smoking programme costs £157 which includes two sessions and supporting booklet and audio.

I am interested in helping people make any changes they feel they want to make and I can work with a huge variety of issues.

I have a particular interest in Sleep problems and Insomnia and I have researched and studied widely to develop my expertise. If you have trouble sleeping I can probably help you see a significant difference in just three sessions.

I also work extensively with Stress and can help you identify the causes of the stress in your life and teach you strategies to manage it in order to get your life back into balance.

I run regular Workshops on Sleep Improvement, Stress Management, Nerves and Confidence, and others.

Take a look at my website for more details or give me a call for a chat. I am always happy to answer any questions you might have.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
