A large proportion of the people I see are lost on their journey through life. They find it easier to continue with help from a navigator or map or even sat-nav, and sometimes it is even simpler.
As your therapist, I will suggest going this way or that way, many people like to have a map or sat-nav with them as this gives assurance, an alternative route can be proposed that may provide a different road and a different landscape maybe even a different horizon.
The map feature on mobile phones became a standard app simply because nobody likes to get lost, everyone tells you that life is tough, a challenge that sometimes seems much too much to continue, a wrong turn can be scary and confusing but nobody worries about using the map feature to get them back on the straight and narrow..
Maybe something happened a long long way back in our journey or maybe it is a particularly difficult and confusing part of our continuing voyage. Whatever it is? everyone benefits from having that support with them as they travel.
All therapy is a joint partnership between therapist and client, and it has been catagorically proven that it is this relationship and the strength of the alliance between client and therapist which provides the most success.
If you feel therapy hasn't worked for you in the past, that may just have been because the bond between you and your therapist wasn't as strong as you both would have liked. Sometimes just like trying to find the right jacket, it can take trying on many different jackets to get the one that fits perfectly just for you.

Standard hypnotherapy sessions last approximately 50 minutes but can extend to 2 hours.
Therapeutic success can be achieved from as little as one session, whereas more indepth issues will require further sessions.

HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT THERAPIST FOR YOU.
It is a good thing that there is so much choice nowadays, but with so many therapists it can become a minefield to find that one perfect therapist who can give you the help you want, just the search can be full of hidden dilemmas which only add to the stress you already have, this makes it extremely exhausting to find the right therapist, I have put together some pointers that I found useful myself.
I want to share these with you so that you are empowered to know you have made the best decision about therapy.
LOCATION: How far are you willing to travel for therapy? Would you prefer someone close to you or more further away?
TRANSPORT: Now you have decided your maximum distance to travel how would you get to the therapy centre?
EASY ACCESS: This may not be a deciding factor for some of us, but for many it will be. Does their profile, page or website tell you that they have wheelchair access? or easy access toilets?
QUALIFICATIONS: Most ethical genuine therapists will have qualifications pertaining to the therapy that they are offering.
But it has been well known for many years that a successful outcome is more about the relationship between the client and their therapist than the quality of the therapy.
You can be assured that if you are searching on a specialist professional directory, checks have already been made to ascertain a therapists qualifications. But what about if you are using a search engine? Does that therapist’s own website or business profile page have sufficient qualifications for you to feel comfortable with them being your therapist?
FACE: Does the website or business profile page show a picture of the therapist? How does it feel in your gut when you look at that picture?
RATES: Is the therapist being as transparent as they can be regarding their rates? There are two reasons restaurants put menus outside of the building 1) to give an idea of the choice of food the restaurant offers, 2) so the diner also knows how much it is likely to cost. Both of these equations are made clear to the diner before they enter the establishment, choosing a therapist is very similar it is best to know ahead of time how much are the therapy sessions and as most therapies involve more that a single session can you afford the repeat costs?
BUSINESS HOURS: What are their business hours? Do they work at times that are convenient to you?
STANDOUT: As you read about the therapist is there anything that separates them from others?
COMMUNICATION: Communication incorporates many different things firstly, What does their website or business profile page say about the therapist and their business? How do you feel while you are reading? Secondly if you feel at this point that you would like to ask a question or happy enough to request an appointment how are you to get in touch with them? So you can be assured of total privacy do they offer an email address as well as a phone number? One other very important element is; how long does it take for them to answer your very important query?
WEBSITE: If searching on a professional directory, do they provide a link to their website? Alternately if you find their website from a search engine do they provide a link to their professional directory?
