It’s a gentle safe and effective treatment. There are no negative side effects, and often people find they are able to make significant changes after one or two sessions
What happens during a hypnotherapy session?
To begin with, once you are comfortable, I may ask you to lie down to help you reach a state of deep relaxation. Using a series of visualisation techniques, I’ll guide you to a journey to help you achieve positive, long-lasting changes.
How does hypnotherapy work?
Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to induce a deep state of relaxation. It’s not like being asleep, it’s actually more like daydreaming. Your body will feel very relaxed but your mind will still be alert and your attention will be extremely focused.
Hypnotherapy works on your unconscious mind, the part of your mind you’re unaware of but is there to protect you.
Your unconscious holds memories and experiences from the day you are born, which will affect how you react to or think about certain things.
When you’ve deeply relaxed, your mind becomes more receptive to positive suggestions and new ideas, allowing you to change unhelpful behaviours and overcome fears.
How long does a session last, and how many sessions will I need?
You’ll need to allow at least 1 hour and 30 minutes for your initial consultation session.
Subsequent sessions will normally last an hour.
I will discuss and agree a treatment plan with you, including the number of sessions you’ll need (normally a maximum of three) to achieve your desired results. Everything is discussed in strictest confidence..
How will I feel after I’ve had hypnotherapy?
Most people who have had hypnotherapy say that after a treatment they feel very calm and relaxed, and have a much more positive outlook.
