Faye Blackwell FHS, MNCS (Acc)

An experienced practitioner of 17 years, I work using hypnotherapy as well as other counselling approaches (where necessary) to provide integrative, solution focussed, client led, bespoke therapy. I pride myself on understanding you as an individual and constructing personal, tailor made therapy just for you. Open, non-judgemental and impartial I aim to provide a warm and safe space for you to rediscover yourself, evolve and grow. I will show you respect, patience and understanding and try to see things from your perspective in order to help you work through and overcome the obstacles that prevent you from reaching your full potential.
I am a Fellow of the Hypnotherapy Society and an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society. As such I am bound by their strict code of ethics and complaints procedures. I have an enhanced CRB certificate. I am an Approved Therapist with both Anxiety UK and the Police Firearms Officers Association.
I have worked in the 'care' industry both professionally and voluntarily since my late teens; most notably in the field of palliative care, especially with HIV/AIDS. After living and working in Greece as an English teacher for 6 years, I returned to England to study counselling and hypnotherapy qualifying with Distinction in both disciplines. I have a special interest in the use of hypnosis for pregnancy and childbirth having experienced it first-hand. I completed my Advanced Diploma on the subject. Other specialist fields of interest are Panic Attacks, Phobias, Bereavement and working with young adults.
Running a busy practice in Wells, Somerset I also worked as a Senior Tutor and case study marker for the country's largest training provider of counselling courses and supervised newly qualified therapists. I have spent the last few years researching and co-writing two web-based therapeutic programmes; one on internet pornography addiction and one on food addiction. As a result I spoke to National and International media on the subject.
Regular supervision ensures you can expect safe and good practice from me. Continued professional development has seen me recently train as a Family Mediator and also study and train as a Mentor and Advocate for Young People in order to work as a volunteer for a local charity.
I am also on the selection panel for Children's Nursing at the University of the West of England (UWE)

As a Fellow of the National Hypnotherapy Society (HS) and an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society (NCS), I am able to display the Accredited Register quality mark, a sign that I belong to a register which meets the Professional Standards Authority's (PSA) robust standards.
The scheme was set up by the Department of Health to ensure that the public are able to choose safe, ethical and competent professionals for their health and social care needs. The scheme is administered by the PSA which is an independent body, responsible for overseeing the UK's nine health and social care regulatory bodies and is accountable to Parliament.
As a member of the public, the fact that I am a registrant on the National Hypnotherapy Society's Accredited Register, should offer you peace of mind and enhanced protection as a client. Having been vetted, I have demonstrated my personal commitment to meeting high professional standards, to enhancing safety and delivering a better service and as such have been approved to join the accredited register.
NB: It must be stressed that I am not personally accredited by the Professional Standards Authority; it is the voluntary register, held by each of the Societies (HS and NCS) that is accredited. Equally, no treatment or service I provide is endorsed by either the Professional Standards Authority or by the Government.
