About me

“I don't know we're to start, I had a serious addiction for 25 years (class-A for 13 years) and I could not come out of my shell until I met, Deniz. He has transformed my whole life for the better with all the intense sessions - helping me bury my demons for ever. He came into my life like an angel in disguise. I had years of addiction and was facing homelessness, then after meeting him I have started to live a normal happy life. Deniz Mehmet goes that extra mile with his clients and he has the most understanding personality ever. He is the best of the best!” I.K

Hello, thank you for dropping in. My name is, Deniz Mehmet and I am a, Cognitive Hypnotherapist. What does that mean? It means that, I am a fully qualified practitioner of Hypnotherapy, I am a certified master practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and that I have training in various other (equally as powerful) disciplines of therapy and coaching. You can find out more about these on my website.

My most relevant education to my work, is my own, 17 year personal experience with addiction. I chose to dedicate my work/life to this area because I understand how misunderstood "addicts" can be. Two people can be addicted to the exact same thing but in completely different ways, and for completely different reasons. Why is that? Because you are you and you are unique! I would never pretend to understand how you feel but I can promise you, our work together will be bespoke and completely tailored around your uniqueness and around your own experience with addiction.

“The problem in life starts when you think you have to add something to the present moment to improve it.” Steve Chandler

What do we hope to achieve?

Like I said before, addiction is a personal thing and so is recovery. Other than the obvious (quitting your addiction) only you could know or, imagine, right now, what quitting would mean to you.

For some people, addiction recovery is about ‘letting go’. Letting go of past events, letting go of negative energy, negative thoughts, self-doubt, procrastination, resentment, etc. For some, it is about ‘gaining’. Gaining confidence, gaining self-control, gaining understanding, gaining direction, etc. For some people, it is just about quitting an unwanted habit. Sometimes, it is all of the above.

The general theme of my work is to quit the addiction, and to enjoy doing so! I do not work with people who do not want to quit, and I do not work with people who only come to please their families. I only accept clients who are ready to move on from the prison of addiction and on to a better life.

There are certain, unconscious, neurological processes which drive our addictive behaviours. My education in Cognitive Hypnotherapy and my experience with addiction has given me a good understanding of how to best utilise the Cognitive Hypnotherapy model, in order to help guide my clients out of their addictive behaviours and into a space of growth. From a mind-set of 'live to survive', to one of 'live to thrive!'. a lot of the time, 'just quitting' is not enough. You I don't know what all this would mean to you but, it would be something worth you thinking about before we begin.

I would be more than happy to give you a free consultation if you would like to tell me about your own experience with addiction and what you might like to achieve through recovery.
