What are the benefits of Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis helps to access the subconscious mind, where the emotions reside. It helps bypass the rational mind. Whilst the rational mind is useful for task orientated situations, when it comes to our emotions, it is of limited use. It actually blocks us from accessing our true feelings. It also shuts us off from accessing painful memories. This is helpful but in therapy, it is essential to visit and work on those painful situations.
We are constantly being triggered by our drives. These can be helpful and motivate us. When we are anxious or stuck, it may be because our triggers are not useful and can be causing us unnecessary stress in the present. This is because at a subconscious level we are reacting to situations in the past, rather than the actual situation at hand.
How does Hypnotherapy help me?
Whilst we are controlled by those memories that create negative beliefs, about ourselves and the world around us, we will continue to be influenced by those memories. By making those deeply buried emotions conscious, we can be released from the hold and influence they have. The result is powerful and empowering.
How many sessions will I need?
As a therapist, I have a duty of care to get you through therapy as soon as possible. Duration can be from 6 to 12 sessions on average. It depends on how much 'stuff' you have stored in your subconscious.

I have been studying Hypnotherapy for nine years. I have completed a Degree in Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy. I am fully insured. I am committed to continuous Supervision and Professional Development. I am at present, studying for a Masters in Clinical Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy.

What Should I expect during my first Session?
During the first session, we explore how you are feeling today, what is causing you problems. As it is your feelings that are creating the problem, we link and connect your feeling to an earlier memory. We then explore Cause and Effects. This means that what you are experiencing today is connected with a cause which was created in the past. Once the link is made, we work on getting your subconscious mind to see things in a more objective manner. This helps you to desensitise from the painful memories and situations. Once this is done, the past no longer controls you. We also use Cognitive Behavioural and Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques to help the mind to view things in a more positive light and to release emotional imprints that are holding you back.
How Will I Know if it's Working?
You will feel differently in situations. You will realize that what bothered you in the past, you can now deal with equanimity and calm. You will feel lighter, more relaxed, not so bothered. You will feel your emotions are within your control. People around you will notice that something has changed.
