Anxiety Specialist, Hypnotherapy in Reading, Woodley & Earley

About me

I don't yet know why you need my help.

Maybe you suffer from anxiety, depression, stress, sleep problems, lack of confidence, self-doubt, a debilitating phobia, panic attacks, OCD, PTSD or Chronic Pain?

Maybe you can't quite put your finger on it but just know you want to feel different and better. More whole? Less lonely? No longer held back?

Perhaps you've tried many times to make permanent changes and haven't yet succeeded.

I work to help people overcome anxiety in all its guises. Experience has taught me that anxiety is at the heart of many problems. It’s important to me that no-one is left standing on the sidelines, being an observer of life rather than part of it. I don't want anyone including you thinking they could achieve what they see others achieving but fear trying.

I love helping clients and enabling them to overcome their fears, anxiety and self-doubt. It's wonderful when a client's world changes for them and they start to live the life they were meant to and doing the things they want to do.

You have all the capability you need within yourself to change even if right now you don't feel that’s the case. I can show you how.

Below are some of the issues my clients come to me for help with:

·        Anxiety

·        Stress

·        Depression

·        Self-Doubt

·        Lack of Confidence

·        OCD

·        Sleep problems

·        Panic Attacks

·        PTSD

I am fortunate that some of my clients say they came to me because I was recommended to them.

Of course, therapy can be a very personal journey for people. Although clients sometimes write to me after we have completed our work together and tell me the wonderful things they are now able to with their lives, understandably I don’t often have permission to share what they say with you.

Nevertheless, some clients have said they are happy to write me testimonials to share. I have re-produced a couple of these below.

"Despite not knowing what to expect Debbie put me at ease from the first time I spoke with her. I felt she really had my interests at heart as she talked through options for treatment. I went with no expectations having received various treatment for anxiety in the past but she helped me to unblock my mind and I can honestly say I have come away more confident and less fearful. Thanks so much Debbie." (google review)

"I recently met with Debbie for 4x sessions of Hypnotherapy for Anxiety. Debbie has helped me so much facing my demons and everything that comes with having heightened anxiety.

Debbie is professional yet down to earth and really makes you feel at ease from the moment you meet her. She shows kindness and empathy for what you are talking about."

I cannot thank you enough and will be looking forward to seeing you again for a refresher in the coming months. (google review)

Getting Started

To get started all you need to do is to contact me to arrange your initial complimentary phone or video consultation. This consultation will give us time to talk about the changes you'd like to make, how I can help you and you can of course also ask any questions you have about hypnotherapy in general or the approaches I use.

Please get in touch even if you are just researching the possibility of hypnotherapy right now, I am always happy to talk.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I first came across Hypnotherapy as a client over 15 years ago. Like many people, my discovery of the effectiveness of hypnotherapy started with a word-of-mouth recommendation through a friend. Taking that friend's advice and visiting the hypnotherapist they recommended was one of the best decisions I ever made.

My interest in the subject grew and I subsequently trained at Postgraduate level with the University of West London via the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. I did my NLP Licensed Practitioner training with Richard Bandler who, along with John Grinder, first developed NLP.

I am a member of the professional bodies BSCH (British Society of Clinical Hypnosis) and the CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council) and am an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist, providing therapeutic support to the charity’s members and partner beneficiaries. I am subject to Anxiety UK’s regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, supervision, continual professional development, insurance and professional body membership in addition to complying with the ethical framework and professional standards set down by the BSCH and CNHC.

Member organisations

British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH)

The British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH) is a national professional body whose aim is to promote and assure high standards in the practice of hypnotherapy.

There are various types of membership of BSCH, including associate members, full members, diplomats and fellows.

Registration demands good quality training, ethical practice and adherence to a code of conduct.

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
