Deborah Winyard - Reading Hypnotherapy
I don't yet know why you need my help.
Maybe you suffer from anxiety, depression, stress, sleep problems, lack of confidence, self-doubt, a debilitating phobia, panic attacks, OCD, or Chronic Pain?
Maybe you can't quite put your finger on it but just know you want to feel different and better. More whole? Less lonely? No longer held back?
Perhaps you've tried many times to make permanent changes and haven't yet succeeded.
I work to help people overcome anxiety in all its guises. Experience has taught me that anxiety is at the heart of many problems. It’s important to me that no-one is left standing on the sidelines, being an observer of life rather than part of it. I don't want anyone including you thinking they could achieve what they see others achieving but fear trying.
I love helping clients and enabling them to overcome their fears, anxiety and self-doubt. It's wonderful when a client's world changes for them and they start to live the life they were meant to and doing the things they want to do.
You have all the capability you need within yourself to change even if right now you don't feel that’s the case. I can show you how.
Below are some of the issues my clients come to me for help with:
· Lack of Confidence
· Sleep problems
· Drinking Problems
· Test Anxiety including Interviews and Driving Test
· Panic Attacks
· Sports Performance
· Pain Management
· Anger Management
· Childhood trauma including sexual abuse
I am fortunate that some of my clients say they came to me because I was recommended to them.
Of course, therapy can be a very personal journey for people. Although clients sometimes write to me after we have completed our work together and tell me the wonderful things they are now able to with their lives, understandably I don’t often have permission to share what they say with you.
Nevertheless, some clients have said they are happy to write me testimonials to share. I have re-produced a couple of these below.
Debbie recently helped me with a health issue and the anxiety that went with it. She was very caring and professional and really helped me understand the role anxiety was playing in making the health issue worse. She gave me a great range of tools and techniques to manage both the pain and the anxiety and as a result I have noticed huge improvements - Thank you Debbie. (client from Maidenhead)
Panic attacks and anxiety had held me prisoner for so long. I had to leave my job and felt unfulfilled. I’d tried lots of therapies and am so glad I decided to give Hypnotherapy a try. I am so glad I went to see Debbie. Now I am planning a new career and finally able to look forward to things again (client from Reading)
You may be wondering how many sessions we will see each other for? Hypnotherapy is a brief therapy. The complexity of your issues may be a factor, but clients can make rapid progress.
What’s important is that you work at your own pace. To give you some guidance, if I look back over my records for the most recent 6 months of my practice, most clients who have completed their work with me have taken between 3 and 6 sessions to achieve their goals.
You only invest in a session at a time, that way you don’t pay more than you need to.
If you are ready, now, to take the next step then please do get in touch. I offer a free initial consultation on the phone or in my relaxing, spacious therapy pod in Reading. Please get in touch even if you are just researching the possibility of hypnotherapy right now, I am always happy to talk.
I look forward to speaking with you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I first came across Hypnotherapy as a client over 15 years ago. Like many people, my discovery of the effectiveness of hypnotherapy started with a word-of-mouth recommendation through a friend. Taking that friend's advice and visiting the therapist they recommended was one of the best decisions I ever made.
My interest in the subject grew and I subsequently trained at Postgraduate level with the University of West London via the London College of Clinical Hypnosis (LCCH). I chose this course as when I was asking other therapists for recommendations, the LCCH was mentioned time and time again.
I am a member of the professional bodies BSCH (British Society of Clinical Hypnosis) and the CNCH (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council) and am an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist.
I undertake regular additional training to ensure I keep up to date with the advances in my profession. For me this has included specialist training in Treating Trauma and the use of EMDR (Eye Movement De-sensitisation and Re-processing) which is a form of trauma treatment.
British Society of Clinical Hypnosis
The British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH) is a national professional body whose aim is to promote and assure high standards in the practice of hypnotherapy.
There are various types of membership of BSCH, including associate members, full members, diplomats and fellows.
Registration demands good quality training, ethical practice and adherence to a code of conduct.
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
If you have been diagnosed or suspect you may have one of the medical conditions starred above, you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies or treatments.
To support everyone at this difficult time, I am currently asking clients to pay only what they can afford.
This can be from nothing at all up to my usual fee of £80 per session.
I ask clients who can afford it to pay my full fee, so I can continue to support as many people as possible who are unable to afford therapy at this time.
