Hi, My name is Chris Tyler, Anxiety Specialist.

I offer treatment in my private practice which is located in the Palace Hub on the sea front in Redcar, Cleveland. Like many people, I was introduced to hypnotherapy only after I realized that traditional counselling wasn’t helping me overcome serious problems that were keeping me from the kind of life I always wanted.

Back in 2016, severe anxiety was a constant in my life. It was there to greet me in the morning, and it often kept me up late at night. It showed up to ruin the good times, and it never missed an opportunity to make the bad times even worse.

On a few different occasions, I turned to traditional counsellors in the hopes that they could liberate me from this debilitating problem.

Time and time again, these well-meaning professionals came up short. Worse, these outcomes only served to reinforce the fear that I would never be allowed the kind of life so many others seemed to take for granted. It became harder and harder to remain hopeful.

So, I am forever grateful for the day I discovered hypnotherapy and decided not to give up on myself.

Before this discovery, “counselling sessions” entailed reliving the same negative memories over and over again. I would spend at least an hour a week being forced to recall every last detail of experiences that caused my anxiety to go through the roof.

With hypnotherapy, I was doing just the opposite. I was exploring my full potential. I was experiencing incredible accomplishments I had yet to achieve and enjoying all of the hope and pride that came with them.

After just one session, my 13-year battle with anxiety came to an end.

I won.

I began my study of hypnosis more than a decade ago and it has been my passion ever since. Even as a full-time practitioner now, I remain as dedicated as ever to constantly learning about this incredible form of therapy.

I also have a diploma in professional study in hypnosis , a Level 3 Certificate in Counselling, and am certified as a practitioner of Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP).

        Further information

        What Is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy has been used to address a wide array of debilitating problems for hundreds of years. In fact, hypnosis was used as far back as 1829 to induce anaesthesia in a patient during surgery.

The approach saw a surge in popularity following World War I and again following World War II as therapists used hypnotherapy to treat veterans struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Over the years, this powerful method has also been used to cure people of:

        • Anger issues
        • Anxiety
        • Bad Memories
        • Confidence Issues
        • Depression
        • Low Self-Esteem
        • Panic Attacks
        • PTSD
        • Stress

Hypnosis has also been relied on for conducting important scientific studies, like those published by Stanford, Harvard, Oxford, and other well-respected institutions.

As Harvard Medical School Professor and Ph.D. Deirdre Barrett said in Psychology Today:

“Whether you use it to relieve stress, stop a headache or get over a bad habit, hypnosis is a tool for better health that practically everyone can use--some to dramatic effect.”

Conscious Solutions Can’t Solve Unconscious Problems
The mind is an incredibly powerful instrument.

More than anything else, it determines what level of satisfaction you experience in life.

As you probably know, there’s your conscious mind and your unconscious mind. While everyone is well-aware of their conscious thoughts (e.g. “I’m hungry. What should I have for lunch”), most aren’t remotely aware what goes on behind the scenes in their unconscious mind.

Unfortunately, this is why so many of those aforementioned problems exist.

For example, consciously, you probably know it’s not a good idea to lose your temper. You probably have countless references from your past that prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that no good comes from losing control and letting anger take over.

        And yet it keeps happening.

Similarly, no one wants to be depressed. No one wants their lives to be ruled by PTSD or to fear that a panic attack may suddenly overwhelm them.

Yet, conventional approaches to overcoming these terrible conditions only deal with the conscious mind. You’re expected to rid yourself of depression by talking about it or to use your thoughts to combat terrible memories when they bubble up out of nowhere.

        How Hypnotherapy Works
Hypnotherapy is a key I use to open the door to my patients’ unconscious minds.

Once that door is open, I can address the deep-seated root causes that are behind their most destructive problems.

Unlike traditional therapy, my patients often feel much better after just a single visit. Part of this is simply because I don’t need them to relive the symptoms in order to uproot them. For example, I don’t need someone with PTSD to go through the experience that caused it – much less on a regular basis.

Instead, with their consent (you’re never unconscious during hypnotherapy), I can visit their unconscious mind and undo the wiring behind the disorder.

Best of all, the simplicity of my hypnotherapy services doesn’t hurt their effectiveness one bit. When Dr. Alfred A. Barrios did a survey of psychological literature, he found that:

Psychoanalysis had a 38% recovery rate after 600 sessions
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has a 72% recovery rate after 22 sessions
Hypnotherapy had a 93% recovery rate after just 6 sessions

Do Not Give Up on Inner Peace and an Incredible Life
As someone who was once crushed by regular bouts of anxiety and depression, I know how it feels to feel like you’re not in control of your life. I also know how it feels when one solution after the next falls short.

That’s why I am so excited to offer my proven skills as a hypnotherapist. If nothing else has brought you inner peace, a sense of possibility, and hope for the future, please do not give up.

Contact me today and I’ll go into even more detail about how my hypnotherapy services will give you your life back.

        What to Expect

I absolutely love being a hypnotherapist because I’ve seen and experienced the power of this method first-hand. It is such an honour to be able to share its healing effects with others, just as someone did for me.

It’s also very important for me that you feel completely comfortable with your decision to experience this incredible form of therapy.

So, here’s what you can expect from my services.

First, before any actual hypnotherapy, I offer a completely complimentary, no-obligation consultation. I can do this over the phone or through messaging – whatever works best for you. This initial conversation will give me a chance to better understand your issues. It’s also a good opportunity for you to get more comfortable with my approach.

As I said, I don’t want you to commit until you’re comfortable with moving forward.

Then, when you’re ready, we’ll schedule your hypnotherapy session.

        Your Hypnotherapy Session

        This occurs in two parts.

The first part is a continuance of the conversation we had during your consultation. It gives me another opportunity to learn about your unique problem. At the same time, you’re also given another opportunity to feel completely comfortable with the treatment.

The second part of the session is the actual hypnotherapy. Usually, this takes approximately 45 minutes, but if I need to go a little longer to complete the treatment, there’s no extra charge. The total length of the session is approximately 90 minutes.

A few days after you’ve experienced my hypnotherapy treatment, I’ll follow up with you to see how things are going. I’ll do so again in a week or two after that. I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to give you the result you want.

With all that being said, if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Hypnotherapy is my passion, so I am always more than happy to talk about it with people who are interested.
