Cheryl Davies HPD, CHS Med. Dip. Hyp, DSFH, MNCH(REG), MCNHC
Hello and thank you for visiting my profile. I am a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist based in West Yorkshire with experience of working with clients to help them to regain a positive mindset and overcome a range of issues including depression, anxiety, anger, weight management, phobias and stress and stress related issues such as insomnia and IBS.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses a combination of solution focused psychotherapy tools and hypnosis to help you identify, work towards and achieve your therapeutic aims. It encourages a focus on achievable, positive present and future goals, and therefore does not involve delving into the past to find the root cause of a condition.
Hypnosis is an enjoyable process, and during sessions you will feel calm, positive and deeply relaxed. When you are in this state we have access to the subconscious mind and can encourage positive changes.
During an no obligation, free Initial Consultation we would talk through your therapeutic aims and how I can help you. This is also an opportunity for you to get to know me and decide if you are happy to work with me to achieve your goals - this is an important part of forming a therapeutic alliance, which will help you to get the most out of your therapy. I would also highlight the parts of your mind that are contributing to your issues, to give you a greater understanding of why you feel the way you do and how I'm going to help you.
I am a member of the Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council and the National Council of Hypnotherapy, giving you confidence that I follow professional codes of ethics and strict codes of conduct.
I am also an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist providing therapeutic support to the charity's members and partner beneficiaries. I am subject to Anxiety UK's regular monitoring of my professional qualifications, supervision, continual professional development, insurance and professional body membership in addition to complying with the ethical framework and professional standards set down by my registered governing body.
Full details about the Anxiety UK Approved Therapist Scheme can be found at www.anxietyuk.org.uk/getinvolved/therapists-at-anxiety-uk. Details about becoming a member of Anxiety UK to be able to access therapy via the charity can be found at www.anxietyuk.org.uk/membership.
