About me

My name is Charlotte Darby and I am a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapist and Thought Field Therapist. I use an integrated approach of therapy, which incorporates Hypnotherapy, TFT, CBT, Drawing and Talking, Psychoanalytic and Jungian Analytic Psychotherapy to assist in therapeutic change. I also have undertaken the level 1 DDP training and can work alongside children and their caregivers to work with insecure attachment patterns. I am client centered and will tailor my approach dependent on your needs. I have extensive experience working with ASD, childhood trauma and abuse, attachment disorder, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, developmental delays and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. I can aid with a variety of conditions including phobias, weight loss, smoking cessation, low self esteem amongst other conditions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have completed pre clinical training with the British Psychotherapy Foundation and University of London: Birkbeck for Psychotherapy and hold a Master of Science in the Psychodynamics of Human Development.

I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents whom have suffered early trauma and attachment disruptions resulting in diagnoses such as PTSD, ADHD, OCD, ASD and attachment disorder.

I have extensive knowledge and experience of working with attachment disorders, childhood trauma and abuse and have undertaken my Level 1 certification in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy which allows me to work with children and their primary care giver to resolve insecure attachment patterns.

I am a trained therapeutic practitioner in Drawing and Talking © and hold a Level 1 certificate.

I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults with a diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as other secondary Mental Health Conditions such as Schizophrenia, Bi Polar, Depression, OCD, Tourettes, anxiety disorder amongst others. I hold a Postgraduate Certificate from Sheffield Hallam University in Asperger’s Syndrome.

I hold a Bachelor of Science (hons) from the University of Surrey Roehampton in Psychology which is accredited by the British Psychological Society.

I hold a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy from Life Clinics Training, accredited by the National Centre for Excellence and the National Council for Hypnotherapy. I also hold a Level 1 & 2 Diploma in Thought Field Therapy (Tapping) from Life Clinics Training.

I hold a National Vocational Qualification Level 3 accredited by City and Guilds for Health and Social Care.

I have completed the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) 8 week course and the paws .b mindfulness curriculum for children aged 5-11.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Hypnotherapy & Combinations: £80 for first session (up to 1 ½ hour), and £65 further sessions (up to 1 hour).

Children up to age 14: £40 per session (approx 30-35 minutes)

Stop smoking programme: £175 (includes double session, cd, booklet and booster session if needed)

Weight loss programmes: £325 (4 sessions or £85 per session including cd).

I accept cash, cheque or bank transfer. Cheques to be made payable to Charlotte Darby.

Cancellation/Late attendance - Please give us as much notice as possible for the cancellation of appointments so that we can fill your slot. If you need to cancel or amend your appointment for any reason our cancellation policy is: More than 48 hours notice – no fee Between 24-48 hours notice - £25 Between 0-24 hours notice – full session fee If you are late for your appointment we will still need to finish by the allotted time.
