About me

Welcome to Katie-M-Hypnotherapy. Since 2020 I have been providing solution focused hypnotherapy sessions, designed to help you lead a balanced, harmonious life.

HOW KATIE M HYPNOTHERAPY CAN HELP YOU:

Combining my extensive knowledge from my training with CPHT Sheffield, and experience with my background in nursing, I am exceptionally qualified to enable clients to focus on the good things in their lives and make positive changes. It is all about a collaborative process between hypnotherapist and client. By working together we can help you be calmer, confident, coping, braver, in control, smiling, focused and happy.

THE INITIAL CONSULTATION AND SESSIONS:

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is amazing as it is a brain based therapy. From the initial consultation, I explain how the brain works, which is very interesting. I use relaxation into trance, which is very ordinary and normal, similar to daydreaming, which we do every day when watching TV or driving for instance. As a solution focused hypnotherapist, I also use specific questions and effective strategies to help people take small steps, to make positive changes in their lives. It is a brief therapy, which means in a relatively short space of time, I can help people get the best of themselves, and transform their lives. I take pride in this and look forward to helping more people cope better with anxiety, stress, anger, low mood, phobias, OCD, IBS, improve sleep pattern and confidence with driving and other things.

KATIE M'S ONLINE WEIGHT MANAGEMENT HYPNOTHERAPY GROUP:

I specialise in Katie-M's weight management online group, where I collaborate with people in my exclusive group to retrain our brains to overcome old habits and behaviours, and take control of eating problems. I am passionate about helping people find a purpose, develop resilience and enjoy the process of successfully achieving goals.

HYPNOTHERAPY CAN HELP WITH SPECIFIC PHOBIAS AND PTSD:

At Katie M Hypnotherapy, I use a research based Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) technique over 3-4 sessions, over 3-4 weeks. Following the initial consultation I gift clients my relaxation audio to listen to every night. I tailor the relaxation for clients, sometimes as part of the initial consultation, mostly the relaxation is session 2. Session 3 is the rewind which is a gentle form of exposure in a perceived safe place in the client's imagination. Session 4 is the reframe where we focus on how the client would like things to be.

IS IT A SPECIFIC PHOBIA:

You know if it is a specific phobia when you're ok in life, except when you come in contact with the specific trigger. For instance, you could have a specific fear of needles, the dentist, spiders, birds, water, storms, toilets, flying, or perhaps a rare phobia including pendular phobia.

It is a non-specific phobia if you're thinking about it all the time, causing you a lot of stress in your life, so we would look at your general stress and anxiety in usual hypnotherapy sessions. The following are all non-specific phobias:

Claustrophobia, Emetophobia and Agoraphobia.

Interestingly, a specific phobia can become a non-specific phobia if people avoid doing other things in their lives, for instance a fear of needles might stop people having the covid vaccine, due to inherited fear from parents or family.

Hypnotherapy can help with non-specific phobias.

HYPNOTHERAPY CAN HELP IN THE CORPORATE AND SPORTS WORLDS:

I can help with organisational and sports performance, so can do talks in the corporate and sports world.

AVAILABLE FACE TO FACE LOCALLY OR ON ZOOM:

I enjoy working one to one with clients locally in Doncaster at Alder Tree Therapy House. Since the pandemic, I also see clients on zoom, which is effective and amazing as some people prefer to be in the comfort of their own home.
