About me

Am I qualified?

I founded Calm Hypnotherapy in July 2020.   I am fully qualified and nationally accredited as a hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner.

In addition to these qualifications I have training in past life regression. I have completed courses with the Past Life Therapists Association (UK) and with Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT - USA). I am working towards my practitioner certification in QHHT.

My background

I have been a qualified social worker for more than 37 years and have enjoyed building helpful professional relationships with people across a broad range of cultural backgrounds and experiences. I was born and brought up in Brisbane, Australia but have lived in the UK for the best part of 25 years. I have dual Australian / British citizenship. I have worked for many years in supporting people through coaching, mentoring and training roles. I am passionate about helping others to resolve issues from their past or present so they can move on to lead happier lives. I take a person-centred approach to helping people solve their own problems as I believe that you are the expert in your life.

I offer face to face to services in Sheffield, and across the South Yorkshire region by arrangement when current COVID-19 arrangements allow.  I also provide services across the world via Zoom.  All sessions are in English only.

Why hypnotherapy?

I have qualified as a hypnotherapist because I wanted to use my people skills more therapeutically to help people lead a happier life through resolving some of the issues and psychological and emotional barriers they have built over the years.

How can you get in touch with me?

Please contact me via email or my website to arrange a mutually convenient time for a free half hour consultation session where we can talk about your concern and see how I can help you.   The free consultation session may also be used as the introductory session, including setting therapy goals if you decide to go ahead.   We will then arrange a mutually convenient time, date and location for our first session.

What can you expect in the first session?

Most sessions involve some hypnotherapy unless we agree to use another therapeutic approach such as NLP or coaching.

The hypnotherapy may be face to face or via zoom at your choice. I will direct you back to the website where payment is easily made via PayPal or card prior to the session. Zoom sessions may be recorded if you wish. All past life regression sessions are recorded as an audio file and sent to you electronically (alongside a transcript)

Can I help you?

My areas of interest include:

  • Past Life Regression – using hypnotherapy to access past lives to support healing or understanding in a current life. This is my specialist interest.
  • Anxiety & Panic attacks - e.g. coping with anxiety about the coronavirus pandemic; help with relationships; anxiety about work
  • Fears and Phobias - e.g. spiders, flying, buttons, lifts, animals, clowns, cyberchondria, etc
  • Habits - e.g. insomnia and sleep problems, stuttering, blushing, bruxism (teeth grinding), bedwetting, hair pulling
  • Smoking cessation – become a non-smoker
  • Stress Management and Relaxation - e.g. work, school, exams, relationships, low self-confidence or self-esteem, inner child, emotional issues, etc
  • Obsessions and compulsions - e.g. repetitive behaviour, rituals, etc
  • Children and Teenagers – e.g. nightmares, fears, school, bullying, parents’ separation etc
  • Minor pain management - e.g. tinnitus, arthritis, cluster headaches
  • Weight Management - eating problems and weight reduction

If your issue is not covered above, please contact me to discuss whether I can help you.
