About me

I’m Caroline, a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist at Step Ahead Hypnotherapy based in Leigh.

With 20 years’ experience in Learning and Personal Development in the corporate world, I’ve worked with many managers and leaders; helping them to get the best out of themselves and their teams. I am also a qualified coach and NLP Practitioner, with experience in accelerated learning and both personal and business coaching at executive level.

Having experienced both anxiety and depression in the past, I am passionate about mental well-being; and in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy I have found an amazing tool for improving mental health and helping people achieve goals they previously thought impossible. Working in collaboration with the client, we build confidence and help people move forward with their lives. We don’t focus on the past; in fact, we don’t need to know how a problem started or even what the problem is, which can be a great relief for some. We concentrate on moving forward and changing the mind-set, enabling people to take control and think in a more positive way.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help with:

  • Stress and Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Fears and Phobias
  • Quit Smoking
  • Weight Management
  • Insomnia
  • Confidence and Self-Esteem
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • Motivation and Performance Enhancement

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy
  • Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming
  • Coaching qualifications.

I have successfully helped people with a variety of issues including fears and phobias, anxiety, depression, irritable bowel syndrome, anger, grief, insomnia, weight management and smoking.

My belief is that one small step at a time leads to big changes and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

The main aim of the AfSFH is to spread awareness of the benefits of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. Its secondary aim is to support Hypnotherapists in their businesses by encouraging good practice and self-care.

Further information

What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a combination of psychotherapy techniques and hypnosis. We use tools and techniques based on the most current research into neuroscience to help you achieve fast, long-lasting results.

Because the therapy is solution focused, we don’t discuss the past or pick over painful memories, we help the client to find the right solutions for them to move forward. We believe that the client is the expert of their own lives and the role of the therapist is a facilitator and guide, using the techniques of positive thinking and hypnotherapy to help the client take small steps towards their long-term goal.
