I specialise in working with people who are managing physical or emotional pain. This may be as a result of emotional distress, anxiety, depression, illness or physical injury. Therapy has been proven to provide relief, aid coping mechanisms, and the relief of pain using hypnotherapy is a recognised form of palliative care and is NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) approved.
I have a master’s degree in psychology (MSc). My thesis was written on strategies for coping with chronic pain. Thereafter I studied for 2 years hypnosis and counselling skills, drawing on international and local expertise, further developing my interest in pain management. I hold a UK approved qualification to practice hypnotherapy (with practicing insurance). Through my qualifications I am a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS), The Royal Society for Public Health (MRSPH), and the National Hypnotherapy Society (MHS). I am always looking to progress my research in clinical hypnosis treatment for pain management.
1. Pain and emotional distress can manifest itself in many disguises. Hiding from it and struggling to cope as a result can make it worse. Hypnotherapy and counselling can provide a path to understand the issues, help you cope and provide relief.
2. Personal development achievements can be daunting and exciting. The first step is always the hardest, and that step can be helped along the way with a structured programme to help you achieve your ambitions and help your confidence grow. Maybe the next step for you is to ask how I can help?
3. To change a lifestyle or get rid of unwanted habits or behaviours are motivational experiences. Whether that be weight management, ‘moving on’ in a relationship, or learning new skills. Let me help you make the change real and lasting.
How can I help you?
If you feel today is worse than yesterday, or you cannot see, let alone imagine, a rainbow moment in your life I can help you. Reach out and together we can achieve that new goal.
What can you expect? What happens in consultation?
During our meetings we will discuss what is troubling you, what you want as a desired outcome, what you want to achieve and agree on a way to help you get there. Whether you have a specific problem or worry, are struggling to cope, or are looking for freedom from unwanted behaviours such weight management, public speaking, communication skills, and personal/performance development, I can help.
Into the workplace;
Taking psychology and psychotherapy into the workplace, I also work with groups, companies, and their employees on resolving issues to move forward. In the initial consultation, questions will be asked to help guide us to the next steps in achieving a successful outcome. I have experience of managing teams and performance focussed outcomes for management training and improved communication, both inward and outward facing.

Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Having been suggested by my palliative care nurse and approved by my consultant as a means of managing the pain caused by secondary breast cancer in my bones I was a bit hesitant at first but after a few sessions I am so glad I contacted Bryn, he was very professional and compassionate and I felt instantly at ease with him and am now able to use the techniques and support mechanisms we discussed in the sessions to help cope with the pain. Tracey
I contacted Bryn as I wanted to cut down on the amount of alcohol I was consuming due to the pressures brought on by Covid, isolation etc. After four sessions I noticed that my go to comfort escape did not hold the appeal it once did and I could go several days without even thinking about a drink. I can now say no and feel more in control. Jen
A friend recommended contacting Bryn for a few sessions of hypnotherapy to help me lose weight, I have been a yo yo dieter for several years with limited success but I have lost two stone and although I still enjoy snacks and some unhealthy foods I can balance and moderate what I eat. This has helped my confidence enormously and I can now wear clothes that I could no longer fit into. Maria
Nothing helped with my panic attacks and life was becoming unbearable at times so I thought I had nothing to lose by trying psychotherapy counselling which I am glad I did as it was not as daunting as I dreaded and I now understand the reason for them and have been able to move forward. S
