I work with people who are seeking help in managing/relieving physical and/or emotional distress and those who want to make life/ life style changes. This may be as a result of anxiety, depression, grief, loss, phobias, illness or physical injury, change of career or relationship, or changing circumstances. Hypnotherapy has been proven to be beneficial in treating a wide range of emotional conditions, physical and emotional pain. Hypnotherapy and counselling are recognised forms of psychotherapy.
I have a master’s degree in psychology (MSc), practicing certifications and insurance in Hypnotherapy and Counselling. I am currently studying a Professional Doctorate in Psychotherapy as part of my continuing professional development, researching hypnosis/hypnotherapy in the management /relief of pain and associated trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, etc. This focus on the client's perspective and benefits it can bring for a client, enabling the client to feel they regain mastery over their own condition/illness in a way which is more in keeping with their own values, beliefs, and psychological needs, and enables self-help strategies to manage/control distress inside and outside of a clinically controlled setting.
I am a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS), The Royal Society for Public Health (MRSPH), and the National Hypnotherapy Society (MHS).
1. Grief, loss, phobias, anxiety, depression, anger, frustration, physical and emotional pain. Hypnotherapy and counselling can provide a path to manage the issues, help you cope and provide relief.
2. Personal development achievements can be daunting and exciting. The first step is always the hardest, and that step can be helped along the way with a structured programme to help you achieve your ambitions and help your confidence grow.
3. To change a lifestyle or get rid of unwanted habits or behaviours whether that be weight management, ‘moving on’ in a relationship, dealing with grief, anxiety or learning new skills.

How can I help you?
If you feel today is worse than yesterday, or you cannot see, let alone imagine, putting one step in front of the other hypnotherapy may help you. Working together we can achieve that new goal.
What can you expect? What happens in consultation?
In the first meeting we will discuss your questions about hypnosis and how it can help you. After agreeing the number of sessions you will understand hypnosis is a conscious experience and the person being hypnotised remains in control; that is if there is anything said that is inconsistent with the patient’s perception of the word it will be rejected. Each person’s experience of hypnosis has been described as unique, as It involves relaxation techniques and may seem as if you are daydreaming.

Having been suggested by my palliative care nurse and approved by my consultant as a means of managing the pain caused by secondary breast cancer in my bones I was a bit hesitant at first but after a few sessions I am so glad I contacted Bryn, he was very professional and compassionate and I felt instantly at ease with him and am now able to use the techniques and support mechanisms we discussed in the sessions to help cope with the pain. Tracey
I contacted Bryn as I wanted to cut down on the amount of alcohol I was consuming due to the pressures brought on by Covid, isolation etc. After four sessions I noticed that my go to comfort escape did not hold the appeal it once did and I could go several days without even thinking about a drink. I can now say no and feel more in control. Jen
A friend recommended contacting Bryn for a few sessions of hypnotherapy to help me lose weight, I have been a yo yo dieter for several years with limited success but I have lost two stone and although I still enjoy snacks and some unhealthy foods I can balance and moderate what I eat. This has helped my confidence enormously and I can now wear clothes that I could no longer fit into. Maria
Nothing helped with my panic attacks and life was becoming unbearable at times so I thought I had nothing to lose by trying psychotherapy counselling which I am glad I did as it was not as daunting as I dreaded and I now understand the reason for them and have been able to move forward. S
