About me

I am a registered hypnotherapist with many years of experience working as a Solution focussed hypnotherapist, CBT hypnotherapy and counsellor. I work with adults, teens and children. I am registered with the CNHC, on the General hypnotherapy register, GHR and have professional public liability insurance.

Hypnotherapy can be a time aware, effective and relaxing way to begin to help you make the changes you seek. Using a combination of hypnotherapy, CBT techniques and many years of counselling/psychotherapy training I am here to support you with the many of issues that current daily living and past experiences can bring.  It may be that you or someone you love or care for is experiencing increased anxiety, depression, maybe they have developed a phobia, possibly something that was once an annoying habit is tipping towards more OCD behaviours, Insomnia and getting in the way of them enjoying life.  Maybe your young teenager has a needle phobia or a family member has developed a restrictive eating habits, ARDID, or an eating disorder and maybe struggling with school friendships and is self excluding. Hypnotherapy has been shown to be an effective support.

Maybe you need help with managing anxiety or depressed thinking or you simply want a boost to your motivation and to increase your confidence to return to work. Maybe you are aware that your drinking has increased over lockdown and you want to reduce drinking alcohol or stop completely for a while. Many of my clients have managed that recently and are enjoying increased feelings of health and wellbeing at feeling more choice now.

Below is a simple but not exhaustive list of the many areas that people seek help with and you can message or call me if you would like to discuss confidentially what you are seeking help for today.

I am registered with the CNHC and I have worked  with many children who have experienced bullying, panic attacks and phobias and struggled with issues like bed wetting , insomnia and persistent nail biting and hair pulling.

I am mindful to help clients achieve their goals within an agreed time frame and budget. I keep costs as low as possible by working from my home practice .

Hypnotherapy can be an effective and surprisingly relaxing way to bring about quite rapid changes and younger adults and children often enjoy how fun and relaxing it can be.

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

I have also trained at the London school of clinical hypnosis in RECBT.

This form of work is particularly useful for clients seeking a deep understanding of long term thinking that may have had a negative impact on their beliefs and behaviours.

Using RECBT hypnotherapy is relaxing and involves a longer term commitment to work with me on a weekly basis over an agreed period of time, usually 4 - 6 weeks.

It is an effective, supportive, safe and interesting process working towards long term change. As the client you are involved in the process and may have some worksheets to read or some tasks to perform to embed our work. It is effective with all types of problem areas and we can discuss what might suit you best.
