About me

I qualified as a hypnotherapist in 1983 and have had continuing professional development to the current day. My ongoing training includes NLP, Emotional Freedom Technique and Energy Medicine.

I won the National Council for Hypnotherapy award in 2005 for Researcher of the Year.

Until I relocated to Devon in 2012 I was the lead hypnotherapist at the Orchard Clinic in Amersham for 17 years.

I run regular workshops and also give talks on stress management in industry.

I am interested in the causes of stress and anxiety and work with both adults and children using a variety of techniques which can bring about rapid change.

On the first visit listening is very important and then I begin with treatment on this first session. Having empathy builds confidence in the client and a belief that change can take place.

My work on pain control including phantom limb pain is an area I have experience in and I was involved with the rehabilitation of victims of the July bombings who suffered from Post Traumatic Stress.

In some cases relationship and/or sexual difficulties can be a contributory factor so I attained an MSc in Relationship and Sexual Psychotherapy in 1997 and also set up one of the first Divorce Recovery workshops in the UK.

My philosophy is that every person is treated with respect and understanding and it is a privilege to use hypnotherapy and attendant techniques to bring about positive change.

Thank you so much for the treatment you gave to my daughter. It has had astonishing results and she is slowly and steadily losing weight. She is also happier and calmer. Her problems are all emotionally linked and hypnotherapy has helped her tremendously. HB. 2009

I am writing to say a huge thank you as you have helped me so much with my anxiety issues. Your hypnotherapy and other strategies have allowed me to live my life again and meant I could get through it without the need for medication. I was extremely sad when you moved away however I am extremely grateful for your continued support by telephone. KG 2014

Thank you sincerely for helping me to resolve deep rooted and long standing issues. My anxieties kept me a prisoner, often preventing me from feeling normal and confident. During the time that you worked with me these anxieties (or demons) melted away releasing me to realise the person in my mind and heart I knew I could be. Today I feel strong and confident, able to manage stress and anxiety whilst performing in a demanding environment and no longer live with the fear of failure. NM 2015
