I developed an interest in Hypnotherapy many years ago and trained with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. I used it successfully on myself when giving birth to my children ! Now that I am no longer teaching full time I decided to obtain further training with the HypnoTC Training Company under the guidance of the very well respected Dr Kate Beavan-Marks .
I feel passionate about Hypnotherapy and hope to 'spread the word' about how very beneficial it can be . It aims to put you in control of your emotions, fears and beliefs. It enables your unconscious mind to accept positive suggestions and to find and develop resources within yourself to improve your life.Hypnosis may be able to help you overcome fear or habits that are holding you back or help you be more motivated and focused to improve performance at work ,in sports or life in general.
My area of special interest is using hypnosis to help anxiety ,especially with exam/ performance anxiety. I suffered from anxiety from a very young age; it really blighted my early life. Hypnotherapy was the only thing that successfully enabled me to overcome this very debilitating condition . When I was teaching I was so aware of students who produced wonderful work in class and who then absolutely fell to pieces once faced with an exam. This is especially difficult now that there is no longer any coursework in GCSEs but all end of year exams.
The techniques used for this are also applicable to performance in work, sport, presentations and so much more.
The hypnosis work I undertake with clients includes elements of CBT and NLP together with suggestion therapy. Any underlying emotions which may be contributing to the present day symptoms may be released and the client can move towards a more balanced state.
I teach my clients self-hypnosis so that the suggestions and ideas from the therapy session can be reinforced by the client through practice at home .
Hypnosis is all about putting the client back in control of their thoughts and emotions and so, ultimately, their lives.
I trained at The London College of Clinical Hypnosis and with The HypnoTC Training Company. The NGH Hypnotherapy Certificate is internationally recognised and the course has been externally assessed and accredited at Practioner Level by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council(UK) to'Accredited Practioner Diploma level' with the British Institute of Hypnotherapy & NLP(BIH) and further accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
I have full Public Liability Insurance and take part in continuing professional development. You can therefore be assured that the sessions are professional, confidential and of a high standard.
I am a member of the National Guild of Hypnotherapists and the Federation of Holistic Therapists.
