Ann Willows. GQHP., MNCP., Dip H.
My previous working life was within the N.H.S as a qualified nurse. This has given me an understanding of how life can become very difficult at times.
Anxiety, Depression & Low self esteem are often treated with prescribed medications, and the underlying cause is not addressed. Counselling, Psychotherapy & Hypnotherapy can often help to discover the root cause which can result in a decrease of medications. (With the approval of the G.P.)
Making that first call is the hardest part. After that I welcome you to attend my place of work and we can discuss your 'problems/issues' in a safe welcoming environment. Everything we discuss is totally private and together we can formulate a programme devised for you alone.
When you come the choice is yours as to whether you want to just talk, or maybe have a 'taster' session of Hypnotherapy if you have not had it before. Everything is done at your pace. You will be in a safe environment, and the time is for you alone.
Will I be asleep?.
No. You will be in a state of deep relaxation - Sometimes called Trance.
Can I be made to do anything against my will?
No. Clinical Hypnosis is not the same as Stage Hypnosis
Will I be able to Drive afterwards?
Yes. Although feeling relaxed your actions & reactions will not be affected!

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.
In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.
A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
The General Hypnotherapy Register
Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).
Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.
All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
If you have been diagnosed or suspect you may have one of the medical conditions starred above, you should consult your GP for advice, diagnosis and treatment and always inform your health professional before starting any alternative or additional therapies or treatments.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
I am LGBT friendly.
Initial Consultation - This is very often done by phone to discuss your needs.
Thereafter from £45.00 per session. Usually 50/60 minutes.
The number of sessions required can vary. However, most people feel some benefit from Hypnotherapy almost immediately.
Stress & Anxiety are major factors in our modern society and can affect all aspects of a persons life.
I realise how debilitating Phobias can be in a persons life. You may say that 'logically it does not make sense, but I am afraid!'
Hypnotherapy can certainly help.
Because of my previous experience there may be times when I recognise that a different type of approach /therapy would be more beneficial. If this happens I will advise of which route may be more appropriate for you and your presenting problem.
If you would like to talk, please phone between the hours of 10 - 6 any day
