About me
Hello, and thank you for accessing my details.
I'm Angela, I am a Senior Practitioner registered with the General Hypnotherapy Council. I am fully qualified in Clinical Hypnotherapy and have been practising for over 15 years.
Hypnotherapy can be a very helpful tool in overcoming many fears, phobias and issues. I have been working with people of all ages as a Psychotherapist / Hypnotherapist for many years and have helped a lot of people to overcome their worries and problems.
The reason I call my practice Hypnotic Solutions.
Hypnotherapy is a therapy that can be used for almost any issue; fears and phobias, weight loss, anxiety in all forms, depression, fear of flying, sports performance, PTSD, fear of public speaking, OCD and more.
In my experience, there is a hypnotic solution for most of life's problems and I have not, so far, come across any issue that cannot be worked on using hypnosis. Of course, with any therapy or conventional medicine, there can be no absolute guarantees, but over the years of practising hypnotherapy, I have been amazed by the results and so have my clients.
What you can expect.
Being able to talk to clients and put them at their ease is key to gaining trust and helping them to relax as much as possible, gaining the maximum benefits from the Hypnotherapy process.
Counselling skills are important in Hypnotherapy, and this is an area I am highly qualified and experienced in too. I work in a non-judgmental, caring and supportive way in order to help the client achieve their aims.
Where there are goals to achieve, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT) and Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) can also be used in conjunction with Hypnotherapy which is a very effective combination.
Using Psychotherapy/Counselling in conjunction with Hypnotherapy helps me to help the client uncover what it is that is causing the issue that is bothering them. It is not just a question of identifying the issue and then delivering a hypnosis session.
One size does not fit all.
Everyone is different and each client has their own hypnotherapy session tailored to suit them, eg: there can be four different clients who are afraid of flying, each with their own reasons why it is a problem for them.
It could be a fear of heights, claustrophobia or something else entirely. My job is to help the client to find out why flying is a problem before I use hypnosis, so the session will be unique to them and their needs.
Getting started.
Please feel free to email or telephone me with your enquiry. I offer a free 15 minute telephone discussion so that you can discuss your issue with me without obligation. I look forward to hearing from you.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
info Information about health conditions (*)
Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.
Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with
I specialise in Weight Management. I run a programme specifically designed for each individual and their needs. You are unique and the work we will do together will reflect this. I use a combination of CBT and Hypnotherapy which has yielded very good results. It will include nutrition, lifestyle changes and normally takes between 3-6 sessions.
Virtual Gastric Band Hypnotherapy is also available @ £225 for a 4 session programme.
- Anxiety issues including fear of flying, social anxiety disorder, blushing, agoraphobia etc.
- Problems affecting young people: bullying, relationships, social issues, exam nerves.
A note about Hypnotherapy for stopping Smoking.
For smoking cessation, it is very important that the client really wants to give up. Hypnotherapy is one of the most successful, if not the most successful method for giving up cigarettes. Smoking cessation is done in one session lasting up to 2 hours.
This includes taking a full case history and going into depth to ascertain the reasons why the client feels the need to smoke. This is followed by a lengthy hypnotherapy session. Traditionally, smoking cessation is done in one session.! My fee for the stop smoking session is £99. for a session of up to 2 hours which is a very competitive rate and includes a free follow up session, if required but rarely needed!

An example of how Hypnotherapy can work:
A client of mine had a severe fear of flying, to the extent that she had not been on a plane for 30+ years. It became necessary for her to fly to Italy to attend an important family occasion. Just two hypnotherapy sessions later, Jean was able to fly with ease and enjoyed her holiday. Not all issues can be dealt with in such a short time, but in the case of Jean this is a real example of how Hypnotherapy can help with phobias.
Frequently asked questions about Hypnotherapy:
Q. What is Hypnotherapy?
A. Hypnotherapy is a perfectly natural state and feels similar to meditation or day-dreaming. The Hypnotherapist will ask the client to close their eyes and then induce a hypnotic state by relaxing the body and mind. Once relaxed, the client's subconscious mind will be open and receptive to suggestions for change that they want.
Q. What happens during a Hypnotherapy session?
A. If it is your first session, the Hypnotherapist will take a full case history including medical details and talk to you about your reasons for coming to Hypnotherapy and what you would like to achieve. Once this is clear, the Therapist will gently help you to relax. This is called an induction. After that, the Hypnotherapist will suggest to your subconscious mind, the changes you have asked for. This will take 20-30 minutes.
Once over, the Hypnotherapist will gently bring you back into the here and now. Most people describe a Hypnotherapy session as being very pleasant and relaxing.
Q. Is it safe?
A. Completely. Hypnotherapy is a very natural state. In fact, everyone experiences it without knowing it. Watching a favourite film, TV or being engrossed in music is very similar.
Q. Will I lose control?
A. Not at all. You will always be in control. If you feel the need to, you can move or scratch an itch.
Q. Will Hypnotherapy work on people that are not very relaxed?
A. Yes. Naturally laid back people may feel that they "go deeper" than others, but even if you feel that you are not feeling as relaxed as you could be, the sub-conscious mind is still open and receptive.
Q. After Hypnotherapy will I want to bounce around like Skippy the Kangaroo?
A. Only if you want to! Seriously though, stage Hypnotists can sometimes give the public the wrong impression about Hypnotherapy, sensationalising it to the extent that it can be off-putting. Clinical Hypnotherapy (which I practice) is totally opposite to the stage version, being a serious complementary therapy which has helped many and is useful for a great deal of issues.
Q. How many sessions will I need?
A. This varies as it depends on how long you have had the issue and how deep-rooted it is. Usually between 2-6 sessions. Stopping smoking is usually one session, although I do offer a follow-up session if required which not all Hypnotherapists do. Please be aware that if you have more than one issue that you would like help with, the amount of sessions needed will be reflected by this.
