Alan Woollard DSFH, CNHC, AfSFH
Hi, I'm Alan and I founded Merryfield Hypnotherapy in March 2014.
I offer a professional and caring relationship with all my clients, and through relaxation hypnotherapy alone, I have been able to help so many people get their lives back on track. My aim is to help you to imagine your preferred future, a future where you have a more useful perspective on the quality of your life, and you'll be pleased to know together we can achieve quick results.
I am keen to help you, so if you prefer not to mention what your stress or anxiety is about that's OK, you are the expert in your life, I am simply here to help you to make better decisions in order to promote change. The skills you will learn, providing you keep using them, will set you up for the rest of your life. You are welcome to view testimonials from my previous customers via my website.
Hypnotherapy has a proven track record of helping people manage stress, so why not book a consultation to find out more, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Training, qualifications & experience
- Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (2014)
- Member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
- Member of the Association for Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH)
- Insured via Holistic Services Insurance
I trained at the prestigious Clifton Practice in Bristol and became a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist & Psychotherapist in December 2014.
In February 2015, I suffered a stroke, causing me to put the business on hold whilst I underwent recovery. The next 18 months became a steep learning curve on the condition, dealing with the frustrations of my limitations and finding solutions to my situation.
Combined with the death of my father in the same year to Motor Neurone disease, and the decline of my mother with Dementia following a stroke 12 months later, I have learnt a lot about the emotional issues that come with these horrible diseases. I also learnt the mental and physical demands expected of the person affected and the carers who provide the help and support.
I view my experience as an opportunity to help others who are also going through difficult times with their mental health and you can be assured of my complete support should you come to me for help in coping with any mental health condition.
Previous to Hypnotherapy, I trained at the London Central YMCA in 1991 to become a Fitness Instructor, eventually obtaining City & Guilds accreditation in teaching adults to instruct and train the new generation of Fitness Instructors. Previous to this, I trained and qualified in Anatomy, Physiology & Massage.
