Why New Year's resolutions to lose weight fail
The 1st of January comes and we all decide to make a New Year’s resolution to lose weight, attend the gym five times a week and swear to yourself to be good with food all the time. You will start this healthy regime and be ‘on it’, which is what most people say that want to lose weight. You start attending the gym four to five times a week and start eating healthily all the time and stop treating yourself to the food that you enjoy, such as chocolate, cake, crisps or even pizza.
Give it a few weeks and you may soon get bored of the same routine… eating healthily, exercising five days a week and eating more healthy diet food and not allowing yourself a treat… the weeks continue on.
So what happens…
Your New Year’s resolution to lose weight fails and you carry on with going back to your old ways. This is a cycle most will follow year on year and be stuck in this same cycle for the majority of their life unless they find a way to overcome their challenges. Statistics show that most will give up on their new year’s resolution at the end of January.
Why does this happen?
The reality is that when you are eating the same food day in day out you will get bored and if you attend the gym most days of the week you will get bored and there is only so long you can motivate yourself and carry on with this same cycle.
Some realistic tips on how you can achieve weight loss:
The truth is that you have to give weight loss time. A lifetime of abusing your body with food will not go away in the space of a month. You have to really work at getting the results you desire and stay motivated and focused.
1) Weight loss hypnosis can help you to regain control over food. Through strong powerful visualisation under hypnosis, you can visualise looking slim, healthy, confident and at your desired weight.
2) Mix up your exercise. Don’t exercise every day of the week. Alternate your days and choose different exercises so that you don’t get bored.
3) Changing your eating habits. Eat well 80 percent of the time and 20 percent allow yourself room for a little of what you fancy i.e. that cake slice, biscuit or pizza. This will ensure you don’t get bored of eating the same food.
4) Support from friends and family. When you are around people that support your goals, they will be much easier to accomplish.
If you make these changes you will find that there will be some difference in your weight. To push your goals even further you may consider enlisting support from a hypnotherapist so that you are not doing it all alone.
