Weight gain is a major risk factor for type 2 diabetes.
Type 2 diabetes is very closely associated with weight, with a very high percentage of newly diagnosed type 2 diabetics being above their ideal weight. Being overweight can put your health at risk and negatively affect your confidence. Getting back to a healthy weight can seem like a never-ending challenge. Pre-diabetes can progress to type 2 diabetes if you don't take preventative steps, such as changing your food habits and making lifestyle changes.
Getting into the right frame of mind to lose weight can be half the battle for some people. Get your head in good shape and allow your body to follow. Maintaining a healthy weight should be a long-term goal and not a short-term obsession.
