What is anxiety?
Anxiety is a state of being fearful of what might happen; a dread that things will not work out, or that things will go wrong. It's possible to be anxious about absolutely anything. You could be anxious about a relationship, a job, a child, a financial situation or your health. You could even be anxious about all of those things together as anxiety tends to spread from one part of life into other areas.
Some people are anxious about things that happened in the past and may happen again, or that something they did will be revealed, causing them to be found out. Whatever the cause, anxiety is hard to live with. Thoughts race, sleep can be disrupted and the sufferer is often unable to be present in life as their thoughts are constantly on what could happen.
Anxiety could be characterised as a lack of trust, or belief, that all will be well in the end. Let's face it, if you knew that everything would turn out ok, there'd be no need for anxiety, would there? Yet, because of this lack of trust, some people go through their lives in a state of low-lying or high anxiety.
Anxiety could be described as a way of thinking, a way of thinking that creates negative feelings. The negative feelings, in their turn create more negative thoughts and before you know it you are on an anxiety fest. Your mind, as you've noticed, can get carried away, taking you deeper and deeper into a dark place of fear and more anxiety.
Can hypnosis help with anxiety?
It is impossible to find a way out of a problem using the same kind of thinking that created it. In the anxious state of mind, all that can be seen, imagined, or accessed is the problem(s). Hypnosis can help with anxiety by calming the mind. It's amazing how a calm mind can come up with its own solutions, and once the mind is calm new suggestions can be given; suggestions that will be accepted and acted on.
If you are wondering how this can work let me explain. In truth, you already have everything you need within you. You already have huge amounts of self-esteem, supreme self-confidence, a cast iron belief in your own abilities and more than enough self-love. How do I know that to be true? I know it because you were born with it. Look for a baby or small child, who lacks any of those qualities, you'll never find one. Newborn babies are lovable because they love themselves unconditionally.
You were born with everything you need and you never lost it. All that happened was that it got covered over by a load of misconceptions. Perhaps you learned to worry from your parents. If they thought that worry was the right thing to do you probably picked it up from them. Babies don't worry, they trust.
Hypnosis can enable you to access your true self; the confident you. In a hypnotic state, you can access solutions and allow problems to melt back away. Once you stop focusing on a problem it naturally fades away.
Changing your mind changes your life so don't delay, begin today.

About Christine Wesson
As a student of metaphysics, I truly believe that we humans are spiritual creatures living in a spiritual universe. We don't have to acquire confidence or self-belief, we already have it. This life is all about letting go of our misconceptions of ourselves and hypnosis is one of the tools I use to enable clients to access their true selves.
