Overcome competition nerves and anxiety with hypnosis

Even the most experienced sports person or athlete can feel nervous or anxious before a competition. So how it is possible to get rid of that anxiety and change that nervous energy into a flow of energy to help you gain the competitive advantage?
Using hypnosis, NLP and Time Line Therapy® techniques is the answer because it’s these exciting tools that allow you to get in control of your mind and your thinking which will drive your results.
It’s not an uncommon experience for those sports people who are competing in their chosen sport to become anxious around the time of or during a competition. I’m not just referring to professional athletes either because competition anxiety can happen at any level.
The individual may feel like their mind is running away with them and they end up thinking really negatively about the activity that they are engaged in. Their self-talk maybe trying to convince them that they aren’t good enough or they are not going to run fast enough or they are going to get a rubbish mark and then of course the feelings of nerves and anxiety really kick in.
Anxiety is interesting, it’s linked to fear and it causes the body to react in a specific way. The body dumps adrenalin into your system in preparation for making an escape. Your respiratory rate and heart rate will increase as the blood is redirected to the muscles and mentally you become more alert. Naturally, this physiological response has a profound impact on performance. One of the major disadvantages is that when anxiety takes over you can experience shaking and tremors. Also having competition nerves and anxiety interferes with your decision making process which means you could lose the ability to make strategically advantageous decisions. It has an influence on how you interact with other people and how they respond to you which could make the problem worse.
From a hypnosis, NLP and Time Line Therapy® point of view, anxiety is one of two things. It’s either a warning from your unconscious mind that you are not focusing on what you want. You are focusing instead on what you don’t want to happen, the worst case scenario, the event going wrong. Or it’s telling you that you haven’t done enough preparation work going into the competition.
The key to your success is your focus. You must stubbornly focus on what you want. Focus is vitally important. You can’t think about what you don’t want to think about without thinking about it. So if you are going to invest a lot of your resources in a competition and all the training associated with it then you owe it to yourself to focus on the competition going well.
