New year, new you!
The New Year can be a great time to initiate change!
As the New year is upon us it is often a time to see out the old, and many will begin planning the New Year with a promise to change habits or behaviours.
What is your goal? A new fitter, thinner or healthier you? Sadly, most won’t give much thought to how they might achieve their goal, relying on quick fix schemes that can lead to failing before they’ve even begun.
"Seeing out the old" means clearing everything that is no longer useful, and that includes clearing away negative thoughts and emotions that are no longer beneficial to our wellbeing.
Letting go of negative emotions can have long lasting beneficial effects, both on the mind and body. Hypnotherapy clients often don’t have to change much in their daily routines to feel fitter or become healthier. Letting go of negative emotions and thoughts about themselves can help them let go of other negatives, so they can manage their weight better and feel more positive each day - helping to achieve a healthier outlook, a clearer mind and a better body!
Focus on what you want, not what you don't. Accept that we have 4 quadrants on being:
High Positive / High Negative / Low Positive / Low Negative
We cannot be in High Positive all of the time. In between High and Low is the best place to be.
We cannot change our emotional responses, but we can change what we do with them.
Anxiety to another is Anticipation.
Apathy to another is Hope.
Despair to another is Euphoria.
All emotions live in the same house. Feel them and change their name; you may find that they come from the same source. Feel in your body where anxiety or anticipation lives, give it a shape, a colour or use analogy.
Start feeling your way to success; by changing your quadrant, you can change the world!
