Forget stage hypnosis and falling asleep at the click of a finger, this is hypnosis, most unlike what you see on TV. How does it work?
The relaxed, yet focused state of mind that ensues with hypnosis allows communication with your unconscious mind, the mind that runs our habits, beliefs and perceptions. Under hypnosis, the unconscious mind becomes more receptive to positive suggestions. I have seen emotional baggage release and long-held limiting beliefs changed into empowering, enabling beliefs in a single session.
What is the unconscious mind?
Your unconscious mind is responsible for all those automatic processes that we don't often think about, including instincts and habits. Your unconscious mind runs your body and your health - physically and emotionally. Your unconscious mind is highly suggestible, something we can use constructively. The unconscious mind is the mind-body link. Most dis-ease in the body (98%) is thought to have a mental cause, so working with the unconscious mind can go a long way to help restore good health.
Access to the unconscious mind is easier when we are in a relaxed state.That's what makes hypnosis so valuable. Through hypnosis we can access and utilise the mind-body link, not only for physical healing, but also for healing emotions and changing self-limiting beliefs into positive empowering beliefs. This way we become our natural confident self again.
How will I feel under hypnosis?
Hypnosis is not the same as sleep or being unconscious. It's also not being controlled by someone else. You remain in control.
Hypnosis is a normal natural state of relaxation. You may be aware of everything going on because hypnosis is a state of heightened awareness.
Can I do it myself?
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. Some hypnotherapists like to teach their clients self-hypnosis techniques. It's very easy and the best way to overcome stress and sleep better.
Hypnosis induces the theta brainwaves, a state in between wakefulness and sleep. This state is the healing state. It is most relaxing and very enjoyable, a real treat.
