How to handle chocolate cravings during Easter
Easter is a time we all look forward to because we have a wonderful long weekend to look forward to and we can relax with our family and friends. With us having a lot of time to relax we can think about food more than we need to as we are a little too relaxed. Not only is there temptation around food, but we are faced with the temptation of chocolate everywhere you look.
You may go to the supermarket and the shelves are stacked with chocolate. When you are at work you may walk into the office and smell the fragrant aromas of chocolate and unless you have a strong willpower you will find that most will give in. Chocolate will be everywhere!
Unless you learn to take control of your temptations you will find that you will have piled on lots of weight over a period of time that will need to be shifted somehow. You may have a summer holiday planned that you want to look gorgeous for or you may have a celebration that you want to go to. Unless you find a way you will only get bigger and bigger and that could have an impact on your confidence, self-esteem and your health.
There are a few things that you can do to ease temptation:
- Make a chocolate face mask. Rather than consuming it, why not make a facemask by adding an egg white, a spoon of yoghurt in some melted chocolate. This way you will end up with radiant skin rather than a huge waistline.
- Fill your mind. Rather than thinking about chocolate all day long, fill your mind with positive thoughts that take you away from chocolate.
- Get excited. Think how amazing you will look when you get to your target weight. There is nothing more exciting to look forward to than how you will look and feel once you have lost all of that weight and wear the clothes you have desperately wanted to get into. When you’re excited about how you will look and feel once you have shed the weight your motivation will be sky high.
Hypnotherapy is a fantastic tool to help you to regain control over your cravings whether they are chocolate cravings or coffee cravings etc. A hypnotherapist will help you to work with your subconscious mind to make healthier choices with food so naturally you will not want chocolate. They may also remove negative habits that drive you to make unhealthy choices with food. A hypnotherapist will also teach you self-hypnosis so that you can use this wonderful tool in between sessions.
When you’re focussed on your end goal, your craving for food will reduce and you will find that you eat less. If you have that focus you will find that you will indulge less on chocolate.
