Beautiful always- how hypnotherapy helps with getting older

It is generally accepted that our society invests in potential and worships youth, but surely it is age that is to be more admired. Although older people can provide impressive evidence of their ability to make a difference, society's dismissive attitude, combined with the natural pressures of ageing, can make getting older in today's world stressful. Standing our ground as we get older can be a challenge, and I enjoy helping my clients to honour their age, whatever it happens to be.
The beauty industry sells 'youth in a bottle', and increasingly includes men in the marketing, but hypnotherapy can help beauty from the inside. No amount of expensive face cream can wipe away regrets for the past, feelings of hurt or worthlessness, or a sense of loss. Hypnosis can help us deal with the past, enjoy the present and recover optimism for the future. Feeling the radiant glow from the inside will certainly put the smile back on your face and the confident self assurance in your step.
Robert, a former client, started out from a poor background but went on to build a business in the plastics industry. He sold it for a small fortune and was able to retire early. In good health, with a loving wife and two talented children at university, the future was looking bright. However, with more time on his hands, Robert became anxious and depressed. He lost interest in his retirement plans and life fell flat. He came to me looking tense and washed out.
Despite being a cautious man, he was also tormented by fears of suddenly losing his money. He was plagued with the notion that he would wake up one morning to an empty bank account, and be back in the life he thought he had left behind: impoverished, demeaned and of no importance. To make matters worse, at his age, he would not have the years left in him to come good.
After the first session of hypnosis, he revealed that when he was young his mother died and his father needed major surgery, so he had been placed in an orphanage, which turned out to be a cold and institutionalised place. Eventually, he had been reunited with his father - a caring man who suffered from chronic ill health - and Robert had gone on to prove that he was worth something. He became driven and highly successful in business.
Although he rarely gave conscious thought to the orphanage, and his logical brain accepted the reasons for his stay, Robert had a flashbulb moment when he understood the hurt of abandonment and being deprived of control, had never left him.
Using the immense resources of the unconscious mind, Robert was able to honour all the ages contained in him. Hypnotherapy helped him accept that his life today was full of love, based on what was real in his life and under his control. He was loved the more for his painful past, as it had contributed to his true uniqueness. Even if his fortune did vanish, he would still be him, and loved for himself. No power on earth could ever take that from him.
If you are annoyed by those 'laughter lines', a challenging birthday or a mid-life moment, why not let hypnosis help you let go of the pressures and enjoy every moment of being the age you are?
