Anxiety is such a little word but don't be misguided, it is powerful! Until you have experienced it you probably cannot understand the impact it may have. It creeps into so many people's lives, often establishing but lying dormant at the back of the mind, preparing to take hold of thoughts at the tiniest invitation.
I know this to be true from my own experiences and my own thinking. In my work as a hypnotherapist anxiety is regularly present, underlying pressing issues, influencing individuals concerns and interfering with thought processes. Often causing people to feel helpless or stuck.
Using hypnotherapy helps clients access their inner resources. This enables the building of skills they maybe unaware of, or already have but have either lost sight of or are having sabotaged by negative thoughts. Anxiety makes the latter most likely.
Even when life has been going well, life changes and we are so busy we often forget the strategies we have used in the past, or we are unable to think clearly to apply more recently used strategies in a different situation. We all need to work on our thinking skills and notice our negative thoughts. If you have experienced anxiety, at times of stress these negative thought patterns can quickly reappear and rational thoughts go out of the window!
Hypnotherapy helps you to explore your current strategies and change habits by accessing resources within you. By connecting with your subconscious, hypnotherapy raises your awareness of these resources, enabling you to make changes through new practices. This establishes new neural pathways which initially makes small changes, but over time this leads to larger changes - creating the ripple affect. So you can function better in everyday life.
Attending sessions with a hypnotherapist should be a pleasant experience and can bring a sense of relaxation. However it is a two way partnership, which takes commitment from you, and you will get more from the sessions if you are fully engaged with exploring new ideas. Learning new skills to practice in everyday life, and new thought processes will avoid you being kept in the same place. This starts you on a pathway to new ways of thinking and being.
The outcome should enable you to feel more in control of your thoughts and make changes in your habits for the better.
The mind is very powerful, so harness its potential to work for you. Consider hypnotherapy to start and sustain change!
