Walking therapy course - Half day live via Zoom
This course will enable participants to integrate walking therapy into their existing practices and to understand for themselves the many benefits of the natural world on their, and their clients’, mental health.
We explore the mental health benefits of physical activity and exposure to the natural world and how to incorporate them into therapeutic practice. Walking therapy has many proven benefits, for example: reduction in symptoms of anxiety and depression; improved confidence and self-esteem; better decision making and clarity of thought. It also helps to foster rapport with the client in a less confrontational setting, helping clients to open up and be more receptive to therapy as well as benefitting from the physical and mental advantages of moving in a natural environment.
The CPD will explore:
- research into the benefits of physical activity
- nature's solutions – the hidden benefits in a natural environment
- the full solution-focused walking protocol
- safety and insurance considerations
- the miracle question
- group walking
This CPD will equip participants with all they need to get out there and walk with clients.
