About me

Would you like to be free of that problem for ever?

Would you like to feel more confident, more relaxed, more at peace with your own self?

Would you like the help of a therapist who has been trained to the highest standards currently available in London?

Would you also like him to be warm, experienced, professional and able to see the beauty in every client he encounters?

If so then please have a read of this profile and decide as to whether you think I might be the best hypnotherapist for you.

My name is Paul Hughes and I'm a hypnotherapist/psychotherapist working from both Holborn and Clerkenwell. I have significant experience in working with all kinds of problems and help my clients to find the fastest and most effective solutions.

Your emotional well-being is my business and so I took the most rigorous and professional route to qualification. I spent four years in training, in order to ensure that I was able to offer high quality therapy to people in London. My trainers were so impressed that they then invited me to train others for them. So, I'm a therapist and a trainer of future therapists. Training others keeps my skills sharp and well-honed - so that people like you can benefit and make those changes they want to see happen.

I believe myself to be a warm, empathetic and personable individual who is able to see clients for whom they truly are - awesome people who somehow cant see this for themselves. I will help you to see yourself as I see you.

There is nothing wrong with you. You are already everything you need to be. You just need some help in order to see that you can resolve the problems which bring you to this site.

You can resolve that problem. You can become a freer, happier, healthier human being. I'd love to be able to help you.

Keep reading through the next section in order to be sure that you've chosen the right person.

Training, qualifications & experience

As I said above, I chose the UKCP path to qualification. This wasn't some quick weekend's training after which I felt able to throw myself into the path of clients with complex, significant and long-standing difficulties. I spent four years seeing clients, writing up case-studies, writing essays, dissertations, endless reading, studying psychopathology, ethical codes and plenty more besides.

Since that time I've committed myself to a broad range of CPD which ensures that I keep my knowledge up to date and my skills sharp.

Experience wise, I am probably the busiest hypnotherapist I know. I see 25-30 clients per week (many of them due to personal recommendations from previous clients) and this - added up over several years - means that I have a very broad range of experience of practically any area you can mention.

I am, in particular, experienced with clients on the autistic spectrum. My eldest daughter has asperger's and a third of my clients are also, at any one time, on the spectrum.

I help such clients with confidence, anxiety, depression, OCD, substance abuse and any number of conditions.

I spent 19 years of my life as a teacher. This means that I have significant experience with children and young people of 11 years of age and upwards. So long as your child hasn't experienced some grotesquely awful trauma then it's likely that I have already have experience of helping people to overcome these difficulties.

I am also a qualified Child and Adolescent Counsellor, continuing my training in order to become a full Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist. You can read more of my work with the under 18s by visiting www.resolvedcounsellingforchildren.com

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Other areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

As explained above, I specialise in working with Asperger's. I also have a particular degree of experience in working with scrupulosity.
