About me

I am a Child/Adult Hypnotherapist/Psychotherapist and EMDR  therapist with previous experience in the NHS (20 yrs). I have high success rates for Anxiety, Phobias, OCD, ADHD, bedwetting, CVS, FND, IBS and selective mutism, weight loss, addictions (appearing on German RTL TV after curing a client of a 20 year addiction in one session) infact there are many more - just contact me!.  I am a weight loss specialist with Gastric band hypnotherapy (appearing in a national newspaper after one of my clients lost 8 stone).  I have also been featured on local radio.  Specialist in - Irritable Bowel Syndrome also known as IBS.

I am a trained child hypnotherapist and specifically trained in treating anxiety.  I worked for several years with Merseyside police working with suicide and PTSD.  I am an expert in bed wetting (high success rate), eating disorders, behavioural issues, toilet issues (poo), sleep problems, confidence, exam pressure, fussy eating (ARFID), cyclical vomiting syndrome, tummy troubles and nausea, tics, nail biting and habits, phobias, separation anxiety, concentration issues, being bullied and selective mutism. etc. I also have a special interest  and extensive experience with ADHD and autism/ASD.   I also have a special interest in treating FND with hypnotherapy and EMDR.  I treat people all over the world on line for FND and selective mutism.

I am the only hypnotherapist who is recommended by the Urology Department at Alder Hey for persistent bedwetting issues and other Urological problems.

I receive referrals from schools and child psychologists.

I am trained to treat PTSD and am an EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing) therapist.    I use EMDR in conjunction with hypnotherapy.

I also work with Lauren Miller, who is a Mental Health Nurse as well as a hypnotherapist and EMDR.   I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and IBS therapists Register and on a Register of Child Hypnotherapists.

I am up to date with the latest techniques focusing on solutions and no regression!  Professional and confidential. I try to be as flexible as I can when offering appointments and seeing clients on line too.  Each session is bespoke and recorded so that my clients have the sessions to listen to at home to enhance the positive outcome.  Any hypnotherapist should be doing this, if not they are not doing the best that they can be doing and you will need more sessions with them.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • 20 years in NHS in nursing/admin/management.  Registered Advanced Adult and Child Clinical Hypnotherapist. I am also fully insured and CRB checked.

I have recently been involved in a documentary on addictions with a German (RTL) TV company.

Specialist training in:

IBS by the founder of the IBS Register. I belong to the IBS therapists register.

Children and Young Adults - trained by Lynda Hudson who is also an accomplished author on the subject and one of few Hypnotherapists who specialise in this area.  I use a solution focused approach for children, as in my opinion this works best.  Cognitive behavioural therapy techniques are offered, but in the more ideal state of mind of hypnosis.

I have special training in:
Bed wettingChild tummy issues (IBS)
Separation Anxiety
Fussy Eating
Behaviour problems
Anxiety and phobias
Bullying
Exam pressures and study skills
Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome
Concentration
Tics
Poo/toilet issues

I have a special interest and experience in Autism, ADD, ADHD, OCD and other ASD symptoms.

I am also a member of the British Psychological Society.

I visit schools to teach ratio breathing and relaxation techniques for anxiety as well as a trained Youth Mindfullness Kids Program trainer for primary school children.

After many successes in weight loss and hypnotic gastric band hypnotherapy, culminating in my appearance in a national newspaper and appearing in local radio, I now advise other hypnotherapists on this area of hypnotherapy.

My experience in the NHS gives me a useful medical insight and this has helped me refer some of my clients onto other areas when I have felt that their problem is more physical than psychological.

Recently working with Uniteprofessionals to help RTA clients with recovery.I am also fully qualified in EFT (tapping) and NLP.  I have also trained in suicide prevention and self harm.

Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
