About me

I am a professional hypnotherapist (Senior Practitioner) with 14 years experience working within my busy practice, Inspiring Changes.

In addition to hypnotherapy, I use a combination of therapies including counselling, brief psychotherapy, NLP, cognitive behavioural techniques and EMDR. Each session is tailor-made to suit you and the issues affecting your life.

Over the years, I have helped many people with wide-ranging and varying problems, not just those traditionally associated with hypnotherapy.

I run an informal but professional practice, with a friendly, understanding and non-judgmental approach. My aim is to provide you with an opportunity to relax and discuss things openly, in order to help you resolve your issues as quickly and effectively as possible, with lasting and permanent results.

The majority of my new clients come to me as a recommendation from somebody who has already seen me and experienced a positive change and resolution of the issues they sought treatment for, particularly those who have experienced anxiety, stress, phobias, confidence/low self-esteem, stop smoking and weight management.

Every session is completely private and confidential. I am fully insured and adhere to a strict code of ethics.

For all new clients I offer a free no obligation consultation by phone.

Sessions are available online or face-to-face.

I work from my private therapy room just outside Salisbury in the village of Whaddon/Alderbury, close to the New Forest. On occassions, I also hold a clinic  at Neals Yard in Salisbury and at the Wessex Health Network in Christchurch, by appointment only.

Working with PSI Training, I train those who wish to become hypnotherapists and also existing hypnotherapists and psychotherapists in specialised areas. For more information, please visit www.psi-training.co.uk

Accreditation

I am a Senior Practitioner member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), the largest and one of the most highly regarded professional organisations for hypnotherapists and am also validated by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

I am also regulated by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the UK regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners whose key function is to enhance public protection by setting standards for registration within CNHC. The CNHC 'quality mark' is being recognised as the hallmark of quality for the sector.

I have a DBS check enabling me to work with children, thereby giving parents and carers peace of mind.

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
