Profile

Annette runs a busy private practice in Chinley, Nr Buxton; a clinic at Sett Valley Medical Practice; she is now extending her practice area to cover Macclesfield, Poynton and Manchester South. Annette also runs relaxation master classes, well being workshops and seminars for corporate and community, and, offers her services to corporate clients wishing to bring therapy in-house to support staff well being.

As a UKCP registered hypno-psychotherapist and CNHC registered hypnotherapist, Annette offers a combination of Hypnotherapy, Cognitive therapy, Psychotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, and Counselling. Therapy is brief, dynamic and solution focused, using the principles of positive psychology, transpersonal psychology, and compassion focused therapy.

Annette has also tutored for The Academy of Holistic Hypnotherapy.

Specialist interests include: performance enhancement and achievement; stress management, confidence, self-esteem, Anxiety, Alcohol problems, Insomnia, Motivation.
Other issues covered include: Phobic anxiety; Obsessive Compulsive disorder- using a combination of Cognitive behavioural counselling and Hypnotherapy, based on the work of Professor Jeffrey Schwartz and the 4 step programme; weight management -offering a range of treatment options, including 'ethical hypno band' ; IBS; and depression (mild to moderate), Tinnitus, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia.

Annette became registered with the Minnesota Institute of Advanced Communication skills after completing 13 hours of Continous Professional development for the AHH-sponsored OCD and Anxiety Disorders masterclass by Devan Hastings in March 2010. Annette is a registered OCD and Anxiety disorders Hypnosis specialist.

Annette continues to further her development and skills as a practitioner through her undertaking of an MSc in consciousness and Transpersonal Psychology and Transpersonal Hypnosis.
Annette is also integrating a compassion focused therapy approach into her practice.

Annette completed an advanced skills workshop in Compassion focused therapy with professor Paul Gilbert in December 2011.

Annette can be regularly heard on local radio stations such as Silk FM, Capital Radio, High Peak Radio, and Radio Derby. Her articles regularly feature in local press.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

A private practitioner since 1998, Annette trained in counselling skills at St Helens College. Also trained in Eriksonian Hypnotherapy; Psychotherapy; Counselling; Cognitive Therapy; and Neuro- Linguistic Programming at The National School of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (N-SHAP), Regents Park College, London. Annette qualified as a hypno-psychotherapist in 1998. Becoming an advanced hypno-psychotherapist in 2000. Annette also holds a BSc (hons) in psychology.

Annette is a full member of The Clinical Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists, The Hypnotherapy Association, and The Hypnotherapy Counselling Board. Annette is also a graduate member of The British Psychological Society.
