About me

Hi. I'm a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist, BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and BACP registered and accredited counsellor whose goal is to work as briefly as possible to help you to overcome the difficulties you are having to reach your goals as quickly as possible.

You will find the service I offer professional, respectful, friendly and down-to-earth. Different approaches suit different clients and so each session is tailored to your specific needs to maximise the potential for a successful outcome.

I am a registered hypnotherapist in the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). (Please note: The Department of Health recommends that, where CNHC registers the professional discipline in question (e.g. hypnotherapy), you consult with someone who is CNHC registered.)

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a experienced and qualified as a hypnotherapist having earned two diplomas, including the HPD, often considered the industry benchmark which is externally verified and accredited by the NCFE, a national awarding organisation, and meets all of the learning outcomes of the National Occupational Standards for Hypnotherapy in the UK.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)/Rational Emotive & Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (RECBT)

I have substantial training in CBT totalling three years. I have an MSc. in RECBT from Goldsmiths College, University of London and a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT from Royal Holloway University. I have worked in primary and secondary care in the NHS.

Relationship therapy

I am a qualified and experienced relationship therapist, having worked for Relate for 7 years, initially with individuals and couples, then later with families, having had additional training in Systemic Psychotherapy. I now continue this work in private practice.

In addition to my thriving private practice, I currently work in IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) as a High Intensity CBT therapist helping clients with depression and various forms of anxiety. Previously, I was employed for 5 years as a counsellor and project manager by the highly acclaimed national charity, Place2Be. I was school-based, providing therapeutic support to students, teachers and parents, as well as managing and supervising a team of skilled counsellors.

With an extensive and varied experience in therapy approaches, I tailor my work to each unique client to find the right way to help them through their life challenges. My philosophy is that most of the challenges we face in life do not require years of therapy to overcome. My goal is to help people overcome the barriers to achieving balance and happiness in their lives in the most expeditious and effective way possible.

Further information

Free initial telephone consultation.

Successful therapy owes much to the relationship between client and therapist. For this reason, I recommend that you have an initial telephone consultation with me. The consultation lasts for quarter of an hour and gives you a no obligation chance to speak with me, discuss your concerns and decide if you would like to continue working with me.
