Please read on to find out how I can help you to feel a lot better through Hypnotherapy and Hypno-psychotherapy and to see how you can obtain your free 30minute Guided Relaxation / Meditation Recording.
As a CNHC Registered Hypnotherapist and NSHP Registered Hypno-psychotherapist I help people to achieve Positive Personal Change and to manage issues that have become an unwanted part of their lives .
As well as helping people with the issues one normally associates with Hypnotherapy such as those listed below, I have also developed some specialities particularly in the area of Sports Performance such as the resolution of Dartitis, Yips and public performance anxiety. I have also developed methods for dealing with White Coat Hypertension which is sometimes also referred to as White Coat Syndrome.
My practice is close to the A55 and is conveniently located for Chester, Wirral, Mold, Denbigh and Wrexham with excellent road and rail links to Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, London and the whole of the UK. The office is just 100 metres from a bus stop that links via the Arriva No. 4 service to Chester Rail Station and Mold Town Centre and just 300 metres from a bus stop that links via the Connexions No.28 service to Wrexham town centre and rail station. Free off-road parking is available at the office.
For those clients who cannot travel to see me I also offer a service via Skype which will also suit overseas clients. Please contact me for details of this service and the preferred payment methods.
Where appropriate I can provide bespoke Hypnotherapy recordings. Because of the time and work involved in creating each unique recording, these bespoke recordings are charged at the same rate as face to face sessions. However, you may find that the free download available on my website (see below) is suitable for deep relaxation which in itself most people find very therapeutic.
Training, Qualifications & Experience
With over 20 years professional experience in various roles including: Training, Mentoring, Career Development Coaching and Hypnotherapy I can call upon methods and tools from a broad range of integrative therapeutic models in order to create individual solutions that meet the needs of each Individual Client.
What do the letters after my name actually mean?
DHP(NC):
Diploma in Hypnotherapy & Hypno-psychotherapy (National College). This qualification recognises the completion of over 15 months of extensive practical and academic training in Hypnosis and Psychotherapy with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, a Member Organisation of UKCP. “The training meets the detailed criteria laid down by UKCP and is at Master's degree level. However, despite having a thorough academic base, the emphasis is always on the practical application of the knowledge to ensure that students become highly competent, ethical practitioners.” (Souce: www.hypno-psychotherapy.net)
I am also engaged in a programme of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) with the Academy of Clinical and Medical Hypnosis. CPD is considered to be an essential activity for professional therapists in order to maintain skills and to keep abreast with new and innovative therapeutic techniques.
Pg Dip CG:
Post Graduate Diploma in Career Guidance. I graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma of The Manchester Metropolitan University in 1996 having completed a one year full time course training to be a Career Development Practitioner (Careers Adviser). I completed Part 2 of the diploma after a further year of full-time on-the-job training with one of the UK’s leading Career Guidance Providers. This experience gives me a particular insight into the causes and resolution of work related stress and anxiety.
MNCH(Reg.):
I am a Registered Member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). This is your assurance that I am a member of a professional organisation that requires members to have high levels of professional training, to abide by a strict code of ethical conduct and to have adequate levels of professional indemnity insurance. Through the offices of the NCH I have been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau and the Scottish Criminal Records Office and have been found to be “Fit To Practice as a Hypnotherapist within the terms of the current Vulnerable Person Protection Legislation”.
MNSHP:
I have been granted the grade of Member of the National Society of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy. This entitles me to use the titles “Registered Hypnotherapist” and “Registered Hypno-psychotherapist” and to use the designated post-nominal letters MNSHP. The grade of Member indicates that “This grade is awarded to those who have achieved the National College’s Diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy. This training is at masters degree level and takes a minimum of fifteen months.” (Source: www.hypno-psychotherapy.net)
In addition to the above memberships I am also registered with Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC): a register that is supported by the Department of Health. This independent mark of quality is your assurance that my qualifications and professional standing have been independently checked and verified by a Government backed register.
Department of Health expresses continued support for CNHC.
"Over the last two years the CNHC has clearly done a lot to set standards for a range of complementary healthcare disciplines and the Department welcomes its continued good work. The CNHC is sponsored by the Department and we recommend that where people are looking for complementary healthcare practitioners, they use someone who is CNHC-registered." Fees
All individual sessions are priced at £60 and typically take between 60 and 90 minutes. Payment is due at the end of each session and should be by cash or cheque - at this time I am unable to accept credit or debit cards.
Generally speaking the first session is likely to take the full 90 minutes. Occasionally, at no extra cost, sessions may last a little longer - this will be discussed with you in advance.
The initial consultation involves taking a detailed history regarding your presenting issue and a discussion on your expectations for the therapy. There is also a discussion about hypnosis when you will be able to have all of your questions about hypnosis answered. The Hypnotherapy will only start when we are both happy that we can work effectively together towards resolving your issue. You remain in control of your therapy programme at all times.
The number of sessions required to deal with your presenting issue will vary according your individual circumstances and needs. This can be assessed and discussed during the initial consultation. The format and length of your individual programme will be discussed and agreed with you before therapy takes place and can be reviewed at any point. Remember, you are in complete control of your therapy programme at all times.
If you have a health-care cash plan with Medicash or Paycare you can claim back a proportion of the the cost of the therapy (up to 100%). If you are with another health-care cash plan provider check with that provider for their policy regarding Alternative and Complementary Therapies.
Please contact me if you have any questions about Hypnotherapy or if you would like to arrange a consultation. Join the many people who I helped with Hypnotherapy to find solutions to their life-problems and who have achieved Positive Personal Change by setting out on this journey.
Further Information
Frequently asked questions about Hypnotherapy.
1. What is Hypnotherapy? It is a way of helping people to feel very relaxed and to respond to suggestions and ideas that are going to help them. However, it is not the same as being asleep. When you are asleep, you are not aware of of what is going on around you. During hypnosis, people usually say that they are still aware of what is going on around them but that it does not seem to matter; it goes into the background. In fact, it is rather like when you are absorbed in a good book or daydreaming; you know that things are going on around you but you don’t feel the need to take any notice.
2. Will I be able to move? Yes. It is important that at any time during hypnosis that you may do anything that will help you to feel more comfortable - for instance you may need to move position or cough, that is perfectly OK, just go ahead.
3. Will I lose control? No. You are always in control. There are three criteria that must be in place for the client to be guided into the hypnotic state. The client must; want it to happen, expect it to happen and allow it to happen. In fact many theorists believe that all hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis and that the therapist is merely your experienced guide in this process. The idea is for you to follow the suggestions of the therapist when you are in the relaxed state of hypnosis as this will be the basis of the agreed programme of therapy. However, if there is anything that you do not want to think about, imagine, do or disclose you will retain the ability to choose not to do so. People usually remember most, if not all, of what they experience during hypnosis.
4. Will I get ‘stuck’ in the hypnotic state? No. At the end of the session the therapist will ask you to open your eyes and be fully alert again. This is something you actually do for yourself so really, at any time, you will be able to open your eyes and end the hypnosis session if you choose to do so.
5. Is it confidential? The information disclosed to the therapist within the sessions is confidential. Information will usually only be passed to a third party if it is part of an agreed referral to other health professionals that will help the client. However, there may be a legal obligation on the part of the therapist to pass information to the relevant authorities concerning criminal activities or if there is a concern about potential harm to others. It should be borne in mind that therapists have a responsibility to the community at large, as well as to individual clients.
