Profile
I am a qualified hypno-psychotherapist, having obtained my Diploma in Hypnotherapy with Distinction and Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Chrysalis. Prior to this I graduated from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge where I studied History of Art and German. Originally from South Africa I have been settled in the UK for over 13 years and am married to a South African. I have always been fascinated by the human mind and spirit and our ability to adapt. I have done a great deal of travelling and enjoy working with people from all walks of life.
I am continually striving to further my knowledge, expertise and self-development through continual professional development (CPD) so as to offer the best level of support to my clients. As part of my continual professional and personal development I am responsible for regularly attending clinical supervision in order to maintain an ethical and well-run practice. I am a warm and approachable person and enjoy working with my clients to enable them to fulfill their inherent potential for their highest benefit.

Hypnotherapy can offer a safe and effective way to achieve beneficial change. I aim to provide confidential and professional assistance in a caring environment. Once the client and therapist have made contact, either on the phone or via email, an initial consultation can be arranged. The initial consultation is an opportunity to explore the relevant issues further and to discuss an effective and individualized programme of treatment. The therapist will go through an initial consultation form with the client to gather any relevant information such as medical history, needs and issues of the client and how hypnotherapy and/or psychotherapy can be used in the treatment. As different issues may require different approaches a combination of the following tools may be used during the course of treatment: positive suggestion, hypnoanalysis, guided visualisation and NLP, EFT and integrative psychotherapy.

Further Information
Hypnotherapy is a gentle and non-invasive therapeutic method that enables a client to enlist the help of their subconscious mind to bring about rapid and effective therapeutic changes. The benefits of the state of hypnosis itself are increased levels of relaxation and decreased levels of anxiety and stress. For many people this relaxation is completely refreshing, and for some, the first experience of such calmness for several years. A therapist will guide the client into this state of comfortable relaxation and in doing so help them to tap into their inner resources, enabling them to achieve realistic goals and positive changes by discovering and utilising new responses, thoughts and feelings and dispelling negative ones.
