About me

Why Hypnotherapy may be the best decision you've ever made

Hi, I'm Vicky and my job is helping people to feel better. I work with many conditions but particularly specialise in helping people who suffer from anxiety or want to stop smoking.  I also regularly help people with weight loss, and phobias, such as fear of flying or driving etc.

Sometimes it can seem that the world is a crazy, scary, negative place. We hear too much about all the bad things going on and it's easy to feel threatened and worried. Not only that, we also have to cope with our own personal lives and all the little things that accumulate to impact on how we are feeling.

It's not surprising therefore that we sometimes need a little help. Hypnotherapy can be a quick, natural and effective way to help people cope with all the pressures of modern life.

It makes perfect sense to want to live the best life we can, and the only way we can do that is if we make changes inside ourselves, because that is where we have the ultimate power.  We might feel helpless about the world we are living in - how can we change that?  But we don't need to, because we can do something even better. We can change our thoughts, our feelings, our habits and our behaviours.  When we do this, everything around us seems to change too.  Nobody can take that power away from us - so, really, the only thing that can stop us or limit us is ourselves and our own ways of thinking about things.

How I can help

I can help by using a type of hypnotherapy known as "solution focused". It's called that because it looks forward instead of backwards. With this approach we don't need to analyse what has gone wrong in our lives. For most people this is a great relief.  This positive psychology is combined with hypnosis, creating a really powerful system of working.

Neuroscience is the study of brains, and what brain scientists have discovered is that when we visualise and imagine good things, our brains change in a way that is really helpful to us. During hypnosis we can access the imagination at the subconscious level to create new pathways in the brain, leading to some very positive changes.

What to Expect

When you walk through my door you will feel comfortable and at ease as we work together to create the results that you want. You will find me easy to talk to, non-judgemental and inclusive. It's calming, relaxing and empowering, all at the same time.

The first part of our sessions will often involve some solution focused psychology - not just a chat, but communicating in a way that steers you towards the positive, and all the good things that you want in your life. When people first start doing this it can feel a little weird because we are so used to looking for the negatives in situations.

Stop Smoking Sessions

Stop smoking sessions are a little different - and you only need one! Stopping smoking with hypnotherapy is the most successful way of quitting. It can help to reduce or eliminate cravings altogether so that it feels easier than ever. What's more, because it is only one session you don't have to wean off cigarettes slowly. You simply decide what day you want to stop, book in for your appointment and then it's done.

Other Conditions

I also work with a variety of weight management techniques and have trained with some of the top names in the business - including Steve Miller who is the presenter of the Fat Families show on Sky TV.  You might also have seen him on Breakfast TV or in the press.  When it comes to weight loss, mindset is everything.  We all know how to lose weight - right?  Eat less, move more.  Sounds ridiculously easy.  And it really can be that easy when you get your mindset in the right place.

Perhaps it's something entirely different, like confidence-boosting, a past life experience, getting rid of a phobia or pain management. There is an endless list of conditions that can be helped through hypnosis.

I work hard to support my clients so that they get the best outcomes they can. You can check out my testimonials on Google and on my Facebook page to see some of the positive reviews I have received.

Some of my Qualifications

I hold a HPD (Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma) awarded by the National Council for Hypnotherapy - this is considered the gold standard of the industry.

Diploma for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy. This style of hypnotherapy combines positive psychology with hypnosis in a way that is very effective. It recognises that inside you there is a wealth of resources and skills, even if you can't see that right now. This therapy brings out the very best of who you are.

I am also a BWRT practitioner at advanced level and this can be of enormous help in respect of some of the issues I deal with and many clients enjoy a combination of both types of therapy.

I am certified at Level 2 Solution Focused Brief Therapy and have trained with world renowned trainer Elliot Connie and also Chris Iveson of BRIEF in London. I hold the SFBT Diamond Level 2 Certification.

I am trained to deal with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). I am registered with the IARTT (International Association for Rewind Trauma Therapy) which is a non-for-profit organisation committed to helping people who are suffering from this condition.

I am trained in the S.T.E.P.S. protocol - designed to rapidly remove old, chronic pain. It's wonderful to help people who have been stuck with pain signals that aren't necessary. Because pain is interpreted by the brain in a very subjective way, I can help you to reduce or eliminate this type of pain altogether.

I continually train to expand my skills, so that you get the best service I can provide, underpinned by the latest knowledge in brain research.

Guilds and Memberships

I am a member of the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council), which sets out standards and guidelines for its members so that you can be assured of my best attention at all times.to.

I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapists.

These associations have web pages where you can find out more information about their aims and objectives.

I hold an enhanced DBS Certificate (formerly CRB check) which can give you the confidence that I am able to work with vulnerable adults and children.

The First Step

Get in touch! You can telephone me, send me a text message or an email. I will always endeavor to answer your enquiries as quickly as possible. We can then arrange our session, which will incorporate the initial consultation, followed by the therapy itself. It's a very exciting time because, from that moment forward, you will know that change is possible.

You will find me friendly and easy to talk to. I am non-judgemental and offer a "safe haven" where your comfort and confidentiality are paramount. My own personal life experiences mean that I can understand so much more about human nature and the challenges you might be facing.

I will also send you a copy of my hypnotherapy mp3 which is beautifully relaxing and full of positive suggestions. This will supplement the work we do together in the session and give you continuing support, if required.

I work from a very comfortable private therapy room in Hinckley and at the Burbage House Health Clinic. I'm also available to work through Zoom or Skype online if you would prefer online therapy. This is particular useful during the Covid-19 outbreak.

If you would like more information or would like an informal chat please get in touch. I am more than happy to answer any questions you have.

I look forward to helping you look forward.

Some
Testimonials taken from my Facebook Page and Google Review - Real Feedback by Real People

"As the hours ticked by, I was more and more astonished at how long it was since I last had a cigarette - and how little I wanted one. Suffice to say the entire day passed smoke free - and without me climbing the walls with withdrawal cravings. In fact, it was easy, almost an anti-climax and I haven't smoked since.

After nearly forty years of enslavement, I am free from the burden of smoking. After a week and a half of not suffocating myself to death my chest and lungs feel a lot lighter - and my wallet is considerably heavier with the money I have already saved. Friends and other smokers have been amazed that I could go from decades of smoking to nil literally overnight and it's already obvious that a few are intrigued and half-thinking about trying the hypnotherapy route. I've got your card in my wallet and if any of them get the point where they are serious about escaping the smoking trap I'll refer them to you in a heartbeat." Leics

Fantastic life changing therapy with a caring and understanding lady!
Vicky has helped me so much in many areas of my life using Hypnotherapy and Brain Working Recursive Therapy (BWRT).
She has done an amazing job helping me overcome anxiety amongst other things.
Take a look, she can work wonders with a wide variety of problems.
I strongly recommend her.
I can’t thank you enough Vicky xx

Vicky has turned my life around. Days after my first session I was sleeping well. After a few sessions I was able to manage my anxiety and stress without resorting to coping mechanisms such as eating a whole pack of biscuits. Every aspect of my life has improved and I feel like myself again. ST, LeicesterI visited Vicky on Wednesday 2nd of August 2017 for a session of BWRT. The day my life changed and I will never forget it. I had been experiencing and altered mood and had become very low and isolated. Having tried other routes I was lucky enough, finally to find Vicky. I left her home therapy room with a smile on my face ... I am like the Cheshire Cat. My hubby is overwhelmed by the change in me. My anxiety has left and I am calmer and concentrated. Amazing. I would highly recommend Vicky who is a lovely lady, with a fabulous comfy chair and extraordinary talent. Thank you for helping my Vicky, I will be telling everyone about you and Trance for a Change. JA, Leicestershire

Vicky is a lovely lady who really puts me at ease. She explains how the brain works with hypnotherapy which makes it easier for me to relate to the process. Having said that, I haven't a clue what it is she's actually doing as I'm in such a comfortable, relaxed state I can only really remember waking up (or coming to, as I'm not actually asleep). All I know is that I float out of her treatment room and that I'm feeling better after only a few visits. Thank you so much Vicky. See you soon. JR, Stoke Golding

Vicky has really helped me over the last couple of months with my anxieties, hypnotherapy has given me a whole new lease of life. Fully recommend this wonderful lady to anyone who struggles with things like anxiety!! Thank you so much Vicky :)   BM, Coventry

Vicky helped me to stop biting my nails after 30 years or more. I haven't bitten them since. It was the only thing that worked for me hypnotherapy. LS, Leicester
Vicky is a wonderful therapist who I would recommend to everyone. She has the most soothing voice and caring nature. She genuinely is one of the nicest and most supportive people I have ever met xx
