I have worked as part of the NHS for seven years and have gained a vast amount of experience working with patients. I have also worked with victims/survivors of domestic abuse for the last six years & have personally experienced domestic abuse so I can really appreciate the effects that it can have on an individual.
I have always had an interest in complementary therapies and decided to study psychology/counselling in 2010 because I have always being fascinated by the workings of the human mind & the powerful effects this can have on the functioning of an individual. Once I completed my degree, I then decided to take further training in hypnotherapy & ongoing training in psychotherapeutic counselling. The main reason I pursued this area was because I genuinely believe that difficulties that people face can be managed. For example following my own personal experience of domestic abuse, I developed anxiety & panic attacks. Experiencing anxiety & panic attacks following a traumatic event is not uncommon but after doing various amounts of research on anxiety & panic I began to believe that this must be reversible or manageable. Therefore I decided to seek help from a professional hypnotherapist and I also did some self hypnosis during my hypnotherapy training and found it to be a very effective treatment.
Following this I realised that working with hypnosis which will eventually extend to psychotherapeutic counselling was an area that I had become extremely passionate about & I knew that I would find this area very rewarding to work in.
I offer a professional informal approach to therapy & genuinely believe that individuals are experts of their own world. I will work with you to address your difficulties at a subconscious level, helping you to change old negative patterns of thought, feelings & behaviour that prevent you from reaching your goals & moving forward.
