The hypnotherapy I practice is gentle and collaborative. It begins with deep relaxation, which most clients find very enjoyable. Successful practice is founded upon hard work - I do not offer a "quick fix" or "magic bullet". I work hard and sometimes you do, too.
Once the conscious mind is quietened, through the relaxation process, the subconscious can be addressed. It is in the subconscious that those unwanted habits and fears reside - the urge to smoke or to eat unhealthy food, for example. Hypnotherapy can help clients to address, and overcome, deep-rooted and long-standing issues.
I always offer an hour-long consultation, free of charge. This session is used to discuss the client's presenting issue(s), my own background and practice, and to allay your fears about hypnotherapy. Only after this session, will a treatment package be discussed. This may include hypnotherapy, counselling, or sometimes a combination of the two.
Note that I will want to speak to you on the phone, before arranging an initial hypnotherapy consultation. This is in order to determine your level of commitment to stopping smoking or losing weight, for example.
I believe that high quality therapies should be available to all. Therefore, lower cost hypnotherapy is available for those on low income. Please see my website for further information, contact details and testimonials.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a diploma (distinction) in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills from Chrysalis Courses, an accredited professional training course. I have six years' experience working in addiction and with clients suffering mental health problems.
Helping people to stop smoking is a specialism. I smoked for over 25 years, and used hypnotherapy to stop smoking for good. In January 2015 I hosted a "Stop Smoking For Good" hypnotherapy event in Chorlton.
I am a fully qualified counsellor (distinction). Additionally, I hold a BA in Philosophy from the University of Essex and MA in English Literature, from the University of Manchester. I have been running my own hypnotherapy and counselling practice from The Counselling Rooms, Chorlton, for the past four years.

Fear is often kept alive through inaction. When we take positive action, we often discover that fear begins to disappear.
