Hi and thank you for the interest you have shown in my profile!
Walt Disney, the Animator and Co-Founder of Walt Disney Productions once said "I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter" ... and this sums up my take on life. Everyone has the right to be the best they can be, but many things can get in the way of this, including our preconceived ideas of ourselves, our thought patterns, what we hear others saying about us and all of the various pressures associated with the very increasing pace of life and change in general.
With experience within the hospitality, retail, agricultural, equestrian, health, consultancy, public and private sectors, I have a good understanding (and personal experience) of many of the difficulties, pressures, stresses and strains that can be associated with working in these different areas.
How I work
As we are all unique individuals with different perspectives, experiences, values and beliefs, all of my work in client led and tailored to suit the individual needs of each client. Everyone is treated with respect, honesty and the utmost integrity as it's vital to me that you feel safe, motivated and fully involved throughout. After all, for the support I offer to be most effective, you have to be totally committed to making the changes you desire. Using a blended range of skills, we will collaboratively seek solutions that enable you to make positive choices in order to take control of your life.
Clients have commented on how supportive they have found my calm, non-judgemental and positive solutions-focused approach in helping them achieve the goals they desire.
I offer a complimentary telephone discussion to discuss what you would like to address, what you would like to achieve, answer any questions you may have, and most importantly, help you to decide whether you would like to proceed with hypnotherapy. This free consultation is offered without any obligation. If you decide to continue, I take a little time at the beginning of each session to discuss and address any questions or concerns you may have, talk through how things are going (assuming you have already had at least one session) and chat through any feedback you wish to provide.
As a member of the National Counselling Society, National Hypnotherapy Society, Association for Coaching and British Psychological Society, I am obliged to follow their codes of practice and ethics.
I am on a register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, a programme set up by the Government to improve standards and safety for the benefit of the public.
Thank you for taking the first step and reading my profile. If you'd like to find out more, please contact me on 07989 437439, firstname.lastname@example.org or via my website www.positivita.co.uk

"Sue is professional, friendly, relaxed and competent. She used a combination of techniques including hypnotherapy to help me improve my sleep patterns. She also gave me some very useful business support. Thanks Sue." RP.
“After working for the same company for over 20 years, I was made redundant and the prospect of getting back into work was a daunting one; redundancy brought with it feelings of failure and self-doubt.
Sue provided a friendly and non-judgemental environment within which I felt comfortable to discuss my anxieties and concerns, some that were long held, in an open and honest way. Challenging my negative feelings, Sue offered support, encouragement and a positive way forward.
Being new to hypnotherapy I was a little unsure what to expect, but I was soon put at ease by Sue and her able assistant Meg! By the second session I was looking forward to the relaxation and as a result began to feel the effects of the positive suggestions in the days and weeks that followed.
I came to Sue looking for help to get a new job, but ended up with a whole new outlook on life! I’m much more optimistic about the future, much more motivated to deal with new challenges and more content within myself.” CMF.
“Sue has worked with me in a coaching capacity on a couple of occasions; firstly whilst applying for University and secondly whilst applying for my first job. Each time she took time to understand my needs, asked questions to help me identify and appreciate my skills and abilities and provide positive support, all of which motivated me to give my best in the application and interview processes.
Along with helping me prepare for interview, Sue encouraged me to identify and take the positives from those interviews where I was unsuccessful. Overall Sue’s style and approach was very calm, positive and influential; I really valued her support and the dedicated service I received was outstanding.” JH.
“Sue’s style was one of openness and empathy, skilfully she combined understanding with questioning that was thought provoking and insightful and developed an approach to our hypnotherapy sessions that felt “just right”. The initial consultation was thorough, and at times a little uncomfortable, because they were important questions - but we did not dig around in the past and previous failures in this area, but concentrated on my goals for now.
I found the hypnotherapy made my relationship with food much more simple and to be honest changing my behaviour was easy - it felt like I had been “factory reset” and was now able to make the right choices, rather than the other way. I have also realised that I no longer have unrealistic ambitions with regard to my weight and much more acceptance and less anxiety around the whole issue.
… Oh, and the hypnotherapy was also wonderfully relaxing and recharged my batteries - win, win, win!” SP.
“Sometimes in life, certain events can throw you off course and no matter what, you cannot find an answer or solution. You become stuck and are unable to progress... Let Sue take you on a journey of discovery and you will never look back!
"My confidence and self-esteem has returned, I believe in myself and my abilities … and I have new business! Thank you Sue for your time, patience, guidance and support; I could not have done this without you.” LH.
As a performer I was having issues with low confidence and performance nerves. I was referred to Sue for hypnotherapy who was able to understand my issues. Following the first session I began to change my approach to singing and more importantly, how I felt about it.
Sue's friendly and professional approach allowed me to relax into the hypnosis and make the important changes needed to enjoy singing again and improve my performances. I would certainly recommend Sue as a Hypnotherapist.” SG.
