I am a qualified Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapist (CBH) working in Tunbridge Wells. CBH is evidence based and there are many scientific studies to show how the combination of Hypnosis and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is so effective in dealing with anxieties and many other issues. Interwoven into my training is Mindfulness which is proving to be very effective for giving respite to the busy mind.
My passion is to help others adjust to living happily in their world by dealing with the many anxious feelings and thoughts that can distract from living a happy life.
After you have made that first important step of making contact, I like to start by having a telephone conversation whereby you can make the decision as to whether we can work together.
In our first session, we will discuss the issue that you have identified for change. We will talk about what each of our roles are in this therapeutic process because CBH is a collaborative process between you and I. It is important that you feel that you are fully aware of the agreed therapy and tasks. There is no magic number of therapy sessions for you. Therapy can last between six to twelve sessions and we will agree regular reviews to establish your progress. Therefore, we can adjust the number of therapy sessions accordingly, fewer or more can be agreed as needed.
Part of the reason CBH is so effective is because you will be asked to complete some personal development between sessions. We will agree tasks for you which will help with your issue and we will discuss the outcome at the start of the next session. Don't worry, it is not going to be anything outrageous. It should be fun, challenging and maybe, a little exciting!
I can promise you that what you will get from me will be an honest, down to earth and common sense approach to therapy.
I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR), Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), The Register for Evidenced Based Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (REBHP) and abide by their codes of ethics.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. The training is based on evidence from scientific studies, many of these are from the Stanford University in the USA. The combination of Hypnosis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has proven to enhance the effectiveness of therapy. In addition, Mindfulness is taught during the training and is a great tool for gaining some control over a busy mind. Trust me, I was very sceptical and I was won over by how great it was. I practice Mindfulness everyday now as it helps me focus on tasks and is great for relaxation.
This training is recognised by The British Psychological Society as continuing professional development (CPD) for those already working as psychiatrists.
I have worked in many roles where confidentiality is of key importance and has to be guaranteed. I have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate for working with adults and children.
I am also a Pilates Instructor at a local studio in Tunbridge Wells.

This is a charity set up to support police firearms officers, and their families, following incidents during the course of their work.
