About me

I'm here to help. I am a highly qualified and accredited clinical and cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist, with many years experience of working with challenging cases.

I can help you change problem behaviours permanently, and for the better. My methods are simple, explainable, solution focused and evidence based.
I will listen to you respectfully, positively and with absolute confidentiality.

I offer safe, targeted, powerful psychotherapeutic and hypnotic techniques, allowing you to reach your goals and regain personal control of your life.

Because every patient is different every treatment I give is uniquely appropriate to that person.
I might use traditional and waking hypnosis, Neuro-Lingusitic Programming, (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, (CBH) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Re-processing, (EMDR).

My qualifications:

I hold an MSc. in clinical and cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy plus a practitioner diploma and level 7 diploma in cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy.

  • The Complimentary Natural Healthcare Council, (CNHC) register member.

  • Weight control/weight loss (including gastric band hypnotherapy, treatment for 'food addiction', binge eating etc.)
  • Low self confidence (sometimes called low self-esteem)
  • Relationship issues
  • Stress and the immune system disturbance, sometimes called psycho-neuro immunology (PNI)
  • Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Anger management
  • Insomnia and sleep disorders
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), (adhering to the latest NHS guidelines for this hypnotherapy treatment, now accepted by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).
  • Addictions obsessions and compulsive behaviour (including gambling addictions, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, internet addiction)
  • Smoking cessation (quit smoking)
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)
  • Performance management (including sports performance, public speaking, exam nerves)
  • Childbirth and pregnancy
  • Pain management

  • Hypnotherapy for sexual problems (including sex addiction and sexual dysfunction)
  • Blushing
  • Bruxism (grinding of teeth)
  • Tinnitus

To maintain my therapeutic skills at the cutting edge of modern theory and good practice I keep abreast of the latest published and ongoing research in my field. I also regularly attend continuous professional development courses, master classes and national seminars relating to my core subjects of treatment.

If you have any queries about clinical hypnotherapy, how it works and how it can help you, by all means give me a call or email me, and I will be happy to discuss your case without obligation.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BSCH
British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH)

The British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH) is a national professional body whose aim is to promote and assure high standards in the practice of hypnotherapy.

There are various types of membership of BSCH, including associate members, full members, diplomats and fellows.

Registration demands good quality training, ethical practice and adherence to a code of conduct.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

CNHC
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of hypnotherapy I deal with

Information about health conditions (*)

Hypnotherapy can enhance the well-being of individuals diagnosed with serious medical conditions, but should not take the place of medical treatment and advice. If you have been diagnosed with - or suspect you may have - any of these conditions, please speak to your doctor before starting hypnotherapy.

Fees

£100.00 - £120.00

Additional information

My session fees start at a £100 concessionary rate, (£105 for the Dulwich practice) for Public Sector workers, HM Forces and those working in the emergency services. (Concessionary fees are generally based upon seniority and income within these sectors).

Outside of the above framework fees are based upon the particulars of your case and are usually decided following an initial assessment session, when we have agreed which continuing protocol is best for you.

Specialist protocols, (such as smoking cessation) will come in at a higher rate, but generally the rates are £115 per session, for the Blackheath Practice and £120 per session, at the Dulwich Practice.

(Each session usually lasts 60 to 75 minutes, however an initial assessment may take up to 90 minutes with the fee remaining the same as your regular rate).

Late cancellations:

In accordance with clinic booking practices if a patient does not attend a pre-booked session, without 48 hours notice, half of the fee for that session is usually payable. If less than 24 hours notice is given of a cancellation the full session fee is normally charged.

You are reminded that your commitment to change should be matched, where possible, by your attendance of booked sessions. If you miss sessions,  the value of your treatment may be affected.
