About me

In the late 1990's Shimara underwent hypnosis to help with weight loss. She had been overweight and yo-yo dieting for 20 years. She contacted a local hypnotherapist as a last resort and paid her whole savings for the therapy. Thrilled at the dramatic results, she was disappointed that within a couple of weeks she started to put on the weight she had lost and some more, just like old times. She contacted the therapist and was offered more help at more cost and she was disappointed to have to pay again for ongoing help. She was told suggestion hypnosis works for a short while but needs to be topped up on a regular basis.

Shimara extensively searched for other solutions and found a Self Hypnosis course at the University of London. She attended this course and wanted to learn more so enrolled on a full training program at the University. Shimara became a fully qualified Advanced Structured Hypnotherapist in July 2004.  After a successful time in Somerset and the Bristol area, she moved to East Sussex.  Skype has enabled Shimara to help clients wherever they may be.  She has kept in touch with old clients in Somerset and has been able to help those in other Countries, the only requirement is a good knowledge of English language and internet access.

Recently, after a big move, leaving friends and family some 200 miles away, Shimara became low and was diagnosed with Depression. In her eyes there is no such thing and so she started to work on herself.  A few weeks after starting this work she became much better and it made her realise even more how 'everything is in the mind'.
