The Carton Clinic
80 Victoria Road
I am an experienced Hypnotherapist and benefit from 20 years experience working as a Nurse. My clinic is located in Horley, Surrey, easily accessible from Reigate, Redhill, & Crawley
I use Solution Focused therapy techniques, which means we don’t analyse the past or what’s wrong. Instead we focus on how you want things to be. It’s a very powerful, positive experience allowing people to make positive change.
Hypnotherapy can help with a wide range of issues, including: Anxiety, Stress, Lack of Motivation, Problems Sleeping, Confidence, Weight Management, Phobias and much more...
I also work with children & young people to help and satisfy both the parent’s and child’s requirements. Hypnotherapy can help to improve thoughts, behaviour, emotions, actions and the solution focused approach helps to develop better coping skills – feeling empowered, increase confidence and reduce anxiety, to help young people make small steps towards their goals.
What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy?
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is a model of excellence that uses interventions that are effective. Solution-focused therapy is an approach to psychotherapy based on solution-building rather than problem-solving. It explores current resources and future hopes rather than present problems and past causes.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a much more collaborative process and it's important to understand that change happens because you want it to and because you are prepared to take the necessary steps to allow it to happen.
Born in Ireland, I spent my career working as a nurse both in the UK, Ireland & Middle East. Nursing has always been a passion for me and, I have enjoyed working with adults and children helping them to improve their health & wellbeing.
I discovered Hypnotherapy when I was pregnant with my daughter, and I began to practice self-hypnosis to help me through my pregnancy. The pregnancy was a positive journey and the birth was natural and I believe it empowered me as a mother.
I have continued to practice self-hypnosis daily and benefit from this immensely. I decided to become a hypnotherapist because hypnotherapy worked for me.
I completed my Hypnotherapy training with The Clifton Practice Bristol (Guildford satellite school). The Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (www.cpht.co.uk) is the leading Hypnotherapy/Psychotherapy school specialising in Solution Focused. I was awarded a Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DFSH).
I look forward to sharing the power of the Solution Focused Hypnotherapy process and see you leave therapy with a positive future.

I came to see Sarah about my difficulty sleeping alone. I had experienced this for as long as I can remember but never known why. Sarah identified that my problem was anxiety related and after six sessions with her i can now sleep in my home alone without a second thought. She didn't need to try and find the cause or talk over my past and the whole process was ridiculously easy. I would happily recommend her to anyone.
I have been so see Sarah and wow this lady is a life saver in my eyes. 40 to 60 cigarettes a day I was smoking with asthma. One visit and I have not has one cigarette. 14th March 2016 is a day I will always remember. It's the day I came to see you and the day of my last cigarette. 40 a day NO MORE. Thank you so much. You are a life saver. Xx
Sarah is wonderful , both professional and warm. The problems I had were sorted in 4 sessions . She explained everything and the whole experience was relaxing and positive. Seeing her has made a tremendous difference to me I am no longer hyper vigilant where spiders are concerned. I don't love them but I am not afraid of them and the effectiveness of the therapy has been tested several times this last week. Treatment has been liberating .
If you are considering having hypnotherapy I can recommend Sarah wholeheartedly.
After a car accident I grew more anxious about driving (this went on for approx 3 years). I went along to my first session with an open mind (normally I am very sceptical about anything other than 'just get up and get on with it'). Sarah was very personable, professional and a really good listener, I felt at ease immediately and the therapy began.
In a very short time I have regained the confidence to drive and I cannot tell you how wonderful it feels to be able to get into my car again and not to worry about a journey – just like the old days, it’s a new lease of life - I am elated and I cannot thank Sarah enough for helping me overcome this problem.
If you have any issues or know anyone who has sleep problems, stress and anxiety, self-esteem & confidence issues - anything really I would urge you to do something about it sooner rather than later – I wasted a lot of time worrying about what to do instead of addressing it with a professional.
I have no hesitation in recommending Sarah and I will be forever indebted to her.
I run a clinic all day Tuesday and evening & weekend appointments available at request.
