Sarah Russell CMH - Hypnotherapist
I am a fully qualified Hypnotherapist and have helped hundreds of clients address a variety of issues, from anxiety and stress to addiction and phobias, and I would be delighted to talk to you about yours.
I welcome enquiries as most people have questions prior to booking, so feel free to email or call me to discuss things further. If you decide to go ahead, once we've found a suitable appointment time for you I will send you email confirmation and a questionnaire which will help me prepare for your first session. I work from home in a relaxed, comfortable, secure environment and it is important to me that you feel at ease throughout our time together.
For most issues I work on a session-by-session basis (with the exception of smoking and birth which I have outlined below). The first session usually lasts about 2hrs and involves an in-depth discussion about the issue before we begin the hypnotherapy. Every client is different so it is impossible to say how many sessions you might need, but as a guide the average is around 3-4, with sessions lasting between 1-2hrs.
Although I see clients for all kinds of issues, I am a specialist in birth and smoking, for which I have developed tailored programmes as below.
SMOKING - 1.5hr session (with 1yr free support)
I am an ex-smoker myself and worked for many years as a specialist hypnotherapist at a busy stop smoking clinic. As a smoker, you know it's a 99% psychological addiction, which is why hypnosis is one of the most successful ways of helping you stop. I offer a programme to help you stop in just one session, and you can find it easy. I am so confident in this method that I offer up to a year of free support, should you be one of the few people that need it, so you know that you can come back any time because I am here to help you stop for good.
BIRTH - 3 x 2hr sessions (your birth partner is welcome too)
I have given birth twice myself and now, as a certified hypnobirth practitioner, I have developed the Mama in Mind hypnobirth programme to empower women everywhere. Tailored to you and your particular journey, it will give you the knowledge and the tools to help you have the best birth experience possible for you and your baby, whether that's a homebirth or an elective c-section.
BIRTH TRAUMA - 3 sessions, 4hrs in total
I discovered, sadly, that a great number of women have had previous difficult or traumatic birth experiences which often impact on motherhood, fertility and future pregnancies. With two kids myself, I understand just how difficult it can be to recover. I have developed a programme specifically to help you take back emotional control, move on and find the positive, allowing you to approach future births or ongoing motherhood with confidence and without fear.
I would love to see you soon
"The programme was specifically tailored to my needs. Sarah is a great listener and made me feel very at ease. She has helped me to get to the root of my problems and has helped me to develop coping mechanisms. Thank you so much for your dedicated care". Claire, Greenhithe (Anxiety & Depression)
"Just one session with Sarah and I thought of myself as a non-smoker for the first time in 20 years. Knowing I could go back if I wobbled was a great support on tough days, though I never needed to. I was always sceptical about whether hypnotherapy would be for me, but it couldn't have been a better decision and Sarah's sensible, straightforward and personalised approach put me at my ease from the start". Hannah, Waltham Abbey (Smoking)
"It was an amazing experience. It really made us both focus on what we really wanted for this birth and helped me focus on the positive things of birth. Sarah made us relaxed and at ease. We both loved the hypnosis and when Sarah left we both had the best sleep after those sessions. Sarah is confident and gave us all the information we needed to make all the right decisions for us as a couple. We were relaxed and happy in her company and she would be a great support for any couple wanting to use hypnobirthing before and during labour". Kelly, Orpington (Hypnobirth)
"The first session involved a discussion with Sarah about my previous birth. She immediately put me at ease and made me feel confident about the whole process. The sessions covered lots of techniques that have actually been useful in lots of post-birth situations too. After the birth of my first child, I was left feeling that I would have no control over the birth of my second. The sessions with Sarah were absolutely brilliant and changed all my preconceptions. During my second birth I was able to work with my body and actually felt empowered by the whole experience. It has been a very worthwhile experience. I highly recommend!" Katrina, Sidcup (Birth trauma)
"I would strongly recommend the hypnotherapy course with Sarah Russell if you can as she is amazing, and despite my husband being sceptical about hypnobirthing at first he really enjoyed the course and learnt a lot about relaxation, the process and what to expect to avoid panic". Kate, Sidcup (Hypnobirth):
Training, qualifications & experience
I first discovered hypnotherapy when it helped me kick a 30-a-day smoking habit many years ago. After several failed attempts to stop, I had resigned myself to being a smoker for life, but after one session of hypnotherapy I never touched a cigarette again. It was this life-changing experience that inspired me to train as a hypnotherapist myself. I worked for many years at the Stop Smoking Clinic in Bromley before going independent.
