About me

Traditional hypnotherapy can tend to be a one-size-fits-all approach but we are all unique and experience the world and our situations in unique ways. This idea is fundamental to Cognitive Hypnotherapy.

I am trained to listen to you and the language that you use and will use the most appropriate technique from a range of disciplines put together in a way that suits how you think. I have lots of experience to help you overcome unwanted behaviours, feelings or thought patterns. During the initial consultation I will assess which treatment programme is going to be most effective for you to facilitate the change that you want. Change can seem difficult, but many of my clients are surprised what they can achieve in a few short hours.

As an experienced Cognitive Hypnotherapist and Clarity coach I believe that everyone has everything they need to solve their problem, they just need help finding it. It is this active collaboration which makes our work together an effective solution focused therapy. In just a few session you will feel more in control and see the changes that you want to see.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy utilises natural trance states that occur daily. For example, when you drive somewhere and don’t remember part of the journey, you might be reading a book and not notice someone else join you in the room. The depth  of the trance does not really matter, and the depth achieved will depend on each individual. So it’s not like you see on the television or stage, it is a level deep enough for change but light enough for you to facilitate your changes. I use a range of techniques to help you achieve positive long lasting changes.

During all sessions we explore the principles that underpin your Psychology and the effect that they have on your problems and the way life unfolds. This often creates change in more areas of your life than you expected.

I am also trained as a SSP (Safe & Sound Protocol) Practitioner.

The Safe and Sound Protocol by Unyte-iLs is an evidence-based intensive listening programme used  for those with trauma, anxiety and social communication difficulties. It has been developed as a result of over four decades of peer-reviewed research, based on Dr Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory.

The music of the SSP has been filtered through a patented, evidence-based algorithm that highlights specific sound frequencies that help regulate the autonomic nervous system and stimulate the vagus nerve.

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a five-hour therapeutic listening intervention designed to support the client's emotional regulation and neuroception (i.e. sense of one's safety), as well as decrease the client's auditory sensitivity. The music is designed to stimulate the vagus nerve, which is responsible for calming the nervous system. This allows for enhanced social engagement and resilience in children and adults. The purpose of SSP is to create new, positive connections in the brain that allow the client to regulate oneself by "stretching the nervous system, not stressing the nervous system."

If you're unsure which therapy is for you - contact me for a free consultation or chat, the relationship between client and therapist is essential and i want to make sure that you are completly comfortable before continuing with me.

How Hypnotherapy can help

We work out of our subconscious mind 85% of the time. Hypnotherapy allows you to access your subconscious thinking which is often outdated and keeping us safe. Hypnotherapy is far more than listening to a script, it is a collaborative process where we trust that your subconscious brings to the surface whatever you need to deal with.

What to expect in the first session.

The first session is a discovery session where we enquire and work out exactly how you do your issue. Anxiety for example Is different for everyone so its important that we find out how it shows up for you so that we can disassemble and rebuild in a way that is more helpful to you.

"I would not have got through the last year without her support, and what she taught me has enabled me now to move on and face the world as the happy person I always used to me.  Sarah was a ray of sunshine in my life when I needed it most; I cannot recommend her highly enough."

For the first time I am not needing to run away from my feelings... It’s freeing!!!

"Sarah is calm, friendly and very approachable a great listener with a lovely manner . She is non judgemental and completely professional.

Her sessions are engaging and exceeded my expectations.

Sarah has helped me see things from a fresh perspective. I was very lucky to choose Sarah as my coach as I always feel in tune with her during the sessions. “
