Using a winning combination of trusted techniques (including hypnosis), hypnotherapy is an enjoyable, safe and powerful tool for positive change. It can be effective for anxiety, insomnia, phobias, addictions, lack of motivation, low self-confidence and all manner of other things.
Rest assured, clinical hypnotherapy is not the same as stage hypnosis! It's not about Elvis impersonations or dancing like a chicken! You will remain in complete control while we help you move forward successfully into that wonderful future you want.
Half the session we’ll be sitting in chairs talking. The second half of the session you’ll be relaxing on the couch, consolidating your positive learning and changes through deep relaxation.
Typically you might come for between 8-12 sessions (weekly to begin with), but some things, such as simple phobias, can be dealt with effectively in as few as 4 sessions. And quitting smoking is often done in one-off session.

I discovered the power of hypnotherapy, when I finally decided to try it for my growing insomnia. I’d got myself in a bit of a pickle, with a busy mind that wouldn't switch off when my head hit the pillow. Before I knew it, I was anticipating a rough night’s sleep and expecting the worst from the day ahead. Not a fun way to live at all!
Seeing a hypnotherapist turned things around. Not only did my sleep dramatically improve, but armed with a new understanding of how the brain works, and full of positivity from the sessions, I was able to effortlessly make other changes in my life. And this hasn’t stopped even thought the treatments have! I continue to notice positive changes occuring as a result of seeing things differently.
This experience sealed the deal for me. I decided to do my Hypnotherapy training at the Clifton Practice and become the best hypnotherapist I can be, alongside my existing massage work.
Hypnotherapy complements my massage beautifully and enables me to use my experience as a self-employed therapist (since 2001) in new ways. .
Since qualifying from the prestigious Clifton Practice with a diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy I’ve thrown myself into a busy hypnotherapy practice in Bristol, working from delightful rooms in Bishopston and Clifton. I am registered with the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), the National Hypnotherapy Council (NCH) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
My specialism is working with clients experiencing anxiety and insomnia. For example, I've helped people prepare for upcoming job interviews and events, overcome longterm insomnia, deal with day to day stresses of life better, and get back to enjoying their lives. Hypnotherapy Fees & Session Duration:
- Initial Consultation, 50 – 60 minutes, £30
- Subsequent Hypnotherapy Sessions, 50 – 60 minutes, £60
- Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy, 90 – 120 minutes, £130 (one single session required, includes initial consultation)
Payment can be made by cash, cheque, card or bank transfer.
For those of you seeking a bargain and wishing to show your commitment to the process, 6 sessions can be paid for upfront at a cost of £330, ie. £55 per session not £60.
