About me

  • Stress and Anxiety
  • focus / motivation / lost your 'mojo'
  • feeling unfilled
  • snappy, irritable
  • burnout.

Also specialist in Weight Control, Smoking Cessation and working with children.

Drawing on over 20 years of experience using and teaching Hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, and PhD on happiness.  An ex-scientist and problems solver, I get to the root of the problem quickly so we can resolve it permanently.

Training, qualifications & experience

Curiosity has always driven me: educated in Physics, my first job was exploring the ground beneath our feet in oil and coal exploration; next I studied the space above our heads with atmospheric physics; and then the spaces we inhabit (in buildings), and now the space inside our heads.

I have been practising Hypnosis since  1997, since when I went to teach and certify other practitioners both in Hypnotherapy and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). I am well-known for my depth and breadth of knowledge, and ethical, empathetic approach.

Training and Certification
I have trained with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis, Tad James (creator of Time Line Therapy®), Richard Bandler (co-creator of NLP), Bobby Bodenhamer (co-author, ‘User’s Manual for the Brain’), Rubin Battino MS (author, ‘Guided Imagery & other approaches to healing’).

What more am I doing?
I have developed the Physics of Happiness, a unique way of understanding our world around us, where it's heading and how we each fit in. Developed in my recent PhD dissertation. I provide professional peer support group for local hypnotherapists, and for over ten years led the Harpenden Complementary Health group, bringing together the public with a wide range of therapists to explore ways of looking after your own health and wellbeing.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BSCH
British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH)

The British Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BSCH) is a national professional body whose aim is to promote and assure high standards in the practice of hypnotherapy.

There are various types of membership of BSCH, including associate members, full members, diplomats and fellows.

Registration demands good quality training, ethical practice and adherence to a code of conduct.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.
