About me

I have more than 30 years of  experience, specialising in helping people deal with Anxiety Issues and Unwanted Habits: I work with clients from all over the world both IN PERSON AND ONLINE (Zoom).

  • Anxiety: Issues worked with include social anxiety, confidence issues, panic attacks, and fear of flying. Also, physical problems related to stress, such as IBS, nausea, etc
  • Unwanted Habits worked with Include: Smoking, Vaping, Alcohol, Cocaine, Gambling, Internet, SA OCD, etc.
Please note: Online sessions are available over Zoom

Most issues can be dealt with in as little as one session!

For your peace of mind, I currently offer a FREE TELEPHONE CONSULTATION. During the call, I will ask you some brief questions to clarify the issues you require help with and explain how I would help you deal with them. This is so that you can be sure that my approach is the right one for your problem.

Unwanted behaviours often begin as an attempt to cope with an unwanted emotion.
The reason that hypnosis can deal with people's problem behaviours and emotions so quickly is because it's a fast way to change the unconscious beliefs and thoughts that have actually been causing them.

Now, when hypnosis is combined with Cognitive Therapy and the relatively new approach of Neuro Linguistic Programming, changes can be made even more quickly.

Please feel free to call me and ask any questions you might have without obligation.
If, after that, you decide you would like to make an appointment, I will ask you some brief questions to clarify whether my approach is the right one for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Hypnosis Qualifications

I first qualified as a Hypnotherapist over thirty years ago, having studied with British Hypnosis Research at St Annes Hospital London and the Royal Masonic Hospital London over a period of two years. During that time and since, I have studied hypnosis with some of the top people in the world. My unique combination of Hypnotherapy, NLP, and Cognitive Therapy usually requires just one session.

I am a senior member of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Register and a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council. These are both independent bodies responsible for the registration of hypnotherapists.

The CNHC's register has been approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.

  • Practitioner of Scientific, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
  • Master Practitioner of Hypnosis.
  • Advanced Practitioner of Ericksonian Hypnosis Psychotherapy and NLP.
  • Advanced Structured Hypnosis.
  • Practitioner of 3D Mind.
  • Integral Eye Movement Therapy.
  • Holder of the Industry based award 'Senior Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice'.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

CNHC
Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

The CNHC encompasses many types of alternative therapy, including hypnotherapy.

In order to be admitted to the register a practitioner must have studied to the National Occupational Standards for that profession/discipline, or have reached the equivalent of the National Occupational Standards through other relevant training or at least three years of experience and been assessed by their peers.

A practitioner must also have professional insurance and agree to abide by the CNHC Code of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.

GHR
The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR)

Hypnotherapists may become members of the General Hypnotherapy Register if they satisfy certain criteria with regard to both training and ongoing requirements as determined from time to time by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC).

Members are either registered at Practitioner status (which confirms that the GHR acknowledges their qualification to practice), or Affiliate status. Although Affiliate level registrants will have completed a sufficient number of training hours to equip them to commence seeing clients on a limited basis, the GHR does not acknowledge them to have yet been trained to full practitioner level.

All GHR Registered Practitioners are required to accept the published Code of Ethics and Complaints & Disciplinary Procedure.

Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Additional information

I prefer to resolve problems where ever possible in just one session. However, everybody's background history and problem is unique to them, which means that session length may vary from person to person, issue to issue. This is one of the reasons why I offer a free phone consultation as it enables me to assess the likely time required to deal with a person's problem, I can then tell them more accurately how long a session will be and how much it will cost. The phone consultation also gives people the chance to assess whether my approach to their issue is the right one for them.

Key details

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Hypnotherapist's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Hypnotherapist to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Wheelchair access is available at my offices and I also offer highly successful online sessions via Zoom.
